I'm jealous of those who got to witness the full meal deal, but the 93% or so we had was plenty fun (and my loathing of crowds did not have to kick in). The crescent shadows were still my favorite, and it was neat to feel the temperature drop. We were driving through central WA and found a great little park to hang out in, complete with sand/Mt. St. Helens ash to play in. Another group hanging out was kind enough to give us viewing glasses, which was a step up from plan A of viewing JK style - not that there's anything wrong with wearing a box over our heads, but you can't beat the sophistication of paper sunglasses.
In all it was a good and memorable time. Much better than watching on TV, and everyone seemed to have fun, dogs included.
