Ed Fowler: Fighter

When it comes to working Ram's Horn... Ed is THE man!

Feel better Mr. F.

No question! Ed's handles are a fascinsting study. Here's a similar fighter of same approx. year. Note the unique proportions and qualities of each knife, though shared guiding principles:

Be-e-utiful!

I'd love to know more about how he does his handles. I assume the shorter piece nearer the blade is a section that is "cross cut" from the horn, while the larger piece is a "length" of horn.

I've been drying a bunch of ram / sheep horn myself for future use. I've actually even saved some of the core bones, but I think the bone might be much too thin for use as a handle material.

Ed's ram's horn is truly some beautiful stuff!

Now there's the sign of a true knifemaker if ever there was one...

"Femur bone..mmm, could it be used for anything to do with knives?...Yep, I know, handle material!."

Great idea!

Hope you make a speedy recovery....nice fighter by the way.
