Pictures at this link.
Hosted separately because I'm posting this across multiple boards. Because I don't know which he's from.
The pictures should tell you all you need to know, but if you want more information I'm happy to provide it. Just let me catch up on sleep first.

The cancellation email came shortly after I called and got suspicious about the nature of the emails.

Bonus: See that email confirmation thing in the "payment sent" email? Guess who went phishing?

Welcome to Bladeforums.
What you need to do is provide some sort of details regarding the transaction or whatever it was that happened. Include dates, times, and other pertinent information. Providing a blind link and just saying, I got scammed, look at the link (with only 3 vague pictures) won't get your point across here too well. Based on what you've just now, it's anyone's guess as to whats going on.

A little more background would be good. However, assuming those iPhone screens are the real deal, you're right. Ed Klein, whoever that is, is a definite phisher.

Rev, the problem is apparently that Klein was sending fake PayPal emails (written and formatted to mimic official paypal correspondences about making an account and entering user/pass information for existing accounts so they can be stolen). In this case, the images didn't load properly anyways, but you can see these clearly aren't sent from PayPal in the first place.

Scummy.

Hmm the only other background I can offer (you can see the timestamps)
is that he contacted me, offered a dollar mount for my knife, and pulled what you see above.

I also called him on the phone an hour after I received the Paypal email and was awake enough to notice it was a scam, hence the rushed, forged Paypal cancellation notice.

When I was on the phone with him, he insisted that it was an issue with Paypal's system, and that he had sent the payment and it was "unclaimed", and he attempted to bully me into sending him the knife. He left me a voicemail also to that effect, just before the cancellation email. If it is absolutely necessary, I'm sure I can find a way to get it off my phone.

Also, those screencaps are very real.
I am willing to allow an admin to access my email account to verify my claims if it is necessary.

hoxhunbe, thanks for the feedback. I've not had any run ins with ED K.

Wesk - Thanks for posting this. With any luck, anyone else that sees this will know not to fall for it. Report it to Paypal and let them have a chat with Mr. K. :D
