Cool blade you made Paul, why 1/4” stock though, isn’t that a little thick for an EDC? Sure it could take just about anything but at just over 8.5 inches?

I like to start with the 1/4 stock sometimes and take the flat part of the bevel almost to 0 before putting a micro bevel on it. I leave more meat on the curved part and the tip for additional strength. Then a fuller on the blade and beneath the handle scales for weight and balance. It ends up being a good slicer with a reinforced tip and light weight at about 5 ounces. Quite a bit more grinding and finishing then if I just started with a thin material but I like the look and performance.

Now that you put it this way, I can see the advantage of using thicker stock especially with the fuller. Nice work either way you have been producing some excellent blades lately.
Thank you. It probably helps to add also that a knife like the Spyderco Military G10 is a bit over 4 ounces and this one is 5 so it will feel very similar in the pocket.

👍 I was missing your fullers there for a bit....... Came out fantastic!!!!! Nice job.
Thank you. Yeah its been a few projects since I did one. I am going to do a couple Makos soon and those have the nice long fuller.
