EDC a ZAAN with slacks?

Just wore my Star Tac Umnum with a black suit yesterday... didn't even know it was there. As for the ease of deployment, one drop of lube / open and close it for 10 -15 min. If that doesn't soften it up, back the pivot screw out just a hair (I believe that is the correct technical term). In small increments, like from the 12 o'clock position to the 11 o'clock position and it should fly open with minimal effort.

Good advice. What lube do you like?

That's exactly what I hoped to hear. Do you or anyone else know how it carries compared to an xm-18 3.5 flipper?

I'm leaning toward just going for it - does anyone have a hard time with the thumb stud while one hand opening? I'm looking for zt550 ease of use...

Honestly it doesn't open that easily (for me, especially with gloves) to be brutally honest and thats one reason I sold mine, I wish the thumb studs weren't right up against the handle. I much prefer the regular seb. for opening. The umnumzaan is quiet though I'll give it that.

@Flash900, I'm a big fan of "Frog Lube" i know, i know... sounds odd but do a search on it. Every pivot and firearm in my house get the Frog Lube treatment. I like it because it's a great lube and is not toxic. It also waterproofs anything it touches.

@BWilson678, The Umnum has a slightly less of a taller profile than the XM-18 3.5" but you would not notice the difference with either while tucked in your pocket. Believe it or not, in the pic below... they all have a very very similar thickness, they all carry in the pocket very nicely. I can easily carry any of these while wearing slacks.... and i'm not a tall guy.

DC - great comparison shot, I also use frog lube and its great. Is there much room for the thumb to manipulate the thumb stud on your zaan (say compared to the xm?)?
