EDC around $200

I'll have to look into an Emerson, don't think I know those knives off the top of my head. Huugh, I already have a Swamp Rat Howling Rat that I'm planning to take with me, that'll work for my smaller fixed blade. :) This will be more my wander around the town and everyday use type of thing.
And yeah, I keep hearing Spyderco is a great knife. But when I hold them in my hand they just feel uncomfortable. Just don't work for me.

May I ask which Spyderco models you have held that were uncomfortable to you? I own and have handled many many knives from quite a few manufacturers, and some of the best ergonomics I have experienced are on some of the better Spyderco models (manix, para).

Another vote for the Rukus. I use mine in my raid kit doing exactly the same thing you say you will be doing down south. If it is truly too large for you, try a mini, I can't say enough about these knives. If you really don't want Axis though, then I'd say the Emerson CQC-10 is about the best you can get for general purpose hard use. It was my go to "tank" before I came across the Rukus.

Lambertiana, I have an Endura 4, which I don't like the feel of at all. I was planning of buying a Military at one point, but when I finally got the hold one at a gun show I didn't like it either. *shrug* Just didn't work for my hands for some reason.
