EDC bag anyone?

Believe it or not, I've used a black Jansport book bag for the last 8 years and it's showing no signs of wear. I like the low key non-military look yet it's still black. I don't know where new Jansports are made but I have this one loaded heavy and I can't believe how well it's held up down through the years. I think I paid $40 for it. I usually just through one strap over my shoulder but I like the option of having both straps for situations where you need both hands free.

EDIT: the reason for the switch from the Maxipedition gear was some of my co-workers didn't like the tactical look of my gear, EDC items, and complained to the owner, saying it didn't look professional in an office environment. Same for my belt sheath Leatherman. So everything is either in my BOE or my pockets these days.

That sucks. For a long time I stayed with a black backpack for EDC but I recently decided to take my Maxpedition Sitka to work. The first day I received a whole bunch of compliments on the bag and a few even asked where could they get one themselves.

For a Maxpedition civilian-look bag they just came out with a couple of nice messenger bags. One in black would look like a briefcase.

I'm using a Max jumbo, EDC Depot had the best price. Would like to try the Colossus, but I can't justify that, other than carrying a big sketchbook ;).

i use an israeli paratrooper satchel that i picked up for $35CAD if you want something small and light

Does anybody make a bag like the CountyComm BOB but with a drawstring/flap closure instead of a zipper? Bonus points if it costs less than $50.

Luckykitty, how big are the front pockets? Could the one under the diagonal pocket hold a 1L SIGG or Nalgene bottle?

I just tried:

(That is the chair the cat likes to lose his hair on ...)
Oh, and I got the grey version they don't seem to sell that any more ...

Me too with my Typhoon, it has only been recently that people started getting pissy about dress and the like. Hell, I don't even interact with the vendors or customers.... :/

I like my shoulder bag.
I got this one:
http://www.amazon.de/JACK-BAG-Umhän...244604?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1256580982&sr=8-8 (haven't seen them any other place than german amazon or german ebay, but there are a lot of similar designs out there ...)

Nice bag Mz. Kitty, not to different from what I am using these days:

I am going to mod mine so it has two inside pockets (PDA/iPod) and a divider.

Oh and a JackBag? http://thesatchelpages.com/where-to-buy-jack-bauers-24-hour-messenger-bag/

Looks awesome, but it will be a while before I can afford the price tag. Will most likely grab one in green thou...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my next bag is going to be the Larkspur. :)

Been looking at it for myself as well, but watching the video and reading the reviews, damn it is one very thick bag.... the height, and width are good, but you add in those front pockets and it really is too wide..... :/

Guess I will just have to get one and see... :)

I'm using an MPB as my laptop/school bag right now, and the Larkspur doesn't look much thicker. Shouldn't bother me I don't think. You're right, though--only one way to find out! :D Though it'll probably be a while until I get 'round to snagging one of them. Limited budget and all that. ;)
