EDC blade

Also how good is zdp-189.

zdp is very good (i EDC an endura4 zdp FFG), but it's a pretty uncommon steel compared to s30v. i don't know of any knives with zdp in your price range.

i've played with and sharpened my friends native. the native is a decent knife but for me it's too blade heavy. after doing a little research on the buck vantage pro, it's my choice for s30v in the your price range (im probably going to buy one myself).

The native is a great knife and i have way more spydercos than any other brand, but the Buck vantage pro is hands down the better knife of the two. s30v steel that is Paul Bos heat treated and super nice g-10 handles. Razor sharp out of the box and less money than the native. 44 dollars plus shipping.

climber10, i left you a visitor message. im going to order one for myself tomorrow.

Kershaw Skyline is one of the best edc blades i've ever owned, 14c28n or you can get a Damascus blade :D for under $40

kershaw is definitely releasing some awesome looking/designed blades, and most, if not all are being made in the US which is a big plus in my book. im ordering my buck vantage pro because i want some paul bos treated s30v.

Looked at a Vantage Pro (large) today at Sportsmans Warehouse. Really nice, but they're charging retail.

Knifeworks is out of the large. Anybody know who has a decent deal online for Vantage pros? Thanks!

If you want it to be tough and have good edge qualities, 14c28n from Kershaw is great. I know people who open boxes and cut tape all day with their Kershaw Needs Work knives between sharpenings.

There are quite a few good options in that steel/size/price range. For example:

Buck Vantage Pro (large)

Benchmade Mini Griptilian

Spyderco Delica
Spyderco Centofante 3
Spyderco Native

I've EDC the Delica4 for 3-4 years now without ANY troubles. Takes a great edge, fantastic corrosion resistance and holds the edge as well as one can wish for hair popping sharpness. Similar experiences EDC the Native S30V with some chipping issues (early'ish production). Had the Cento3 or 4 with the warncliffe blade and it was REALLY cool, but didn't carry southpaw well for me.
