EDC fixed blade horizontal carry

Can you post a pic of the iron river in hand once you get it? I really like the look of those but I'm worried the handle might be a little too small to be comfortable for me.

Not in hand, but a pic nonetheless. I can tell you that I wear large size gloves, and this Iron River is very comfortable in many positions. Unless you have HUGE hands, I don't think it'll be an issue.

Really like that Northwoods....but on the Guardian 3, that was the first one that came to mind for me as well based on the title of this thread, but I recently sold mine because of the scales. The blade was amazing, one of the best blades ever, but my God, those scales are just horrible IMO. The overall shape doesn't work all that well, but it's the crazy rough finishing of the G10 that made the knife unbearable to use for me. Honestly, I'd have to say that was likely THE most uncomfortable handle I've personally ever experienced. They are now beginning to offer alternative scales to combat this issue - so if you can grab one of those, go for it, it'd be a superb option with the new scales!

^^^ Yep, that's where to get them (exclusively, for now). I had it on my belt again today:

And someone asked about the size of this stout little Iron River, so here it is next to a PM2 for comparison (which pretty much everyone here knows):

I've got a Guardian 3 coming soon, too, and I am expecting to have to radius the scales' edges. And I too saw some other scale options becoming available, so that's always an option down the road...

You. Are. Killing. Me!!!!! You're fixed blade game is strong. I am just enamored by the new Northwoods fixed. So many options! Love the Scandi grind and it's good to hear about the ergos. Not sure if they'd let me in that store, I'd probably have to bring coffee or donuts daily, I'd be there so much. Stalking the deliveries and knives would be endless. I think I'm gonna take my Cessna up there this summer and pop over to MN to see relatives.

What configuration did you get on the Guardian 3? I find the scales delightful. Tons of grip without gloves, and just fits well in my hand. I wear L-XL gloves, as well. I got the carbon fiber handles and have zero complaints. I'm always more worried about slipping than a few minor scratching or abrasions from the handle or jimping. I put the G3 M390 through it's paces on Saturday. I worked that knife really really hard and it shaved almost like it did when it came. I stropped it on my jeans and it went right back to factory sharpness. If the Bradford Guardian series had a finger guard, I'd use it in combat - if I went back to do that type of work.

I also think we're missing a really great small fixed knife that is a well made budget. The Patriot. That is a very nice knife for under $100.
