EDC Fixed Blade PITA

I'm glad I read this! I've been on a quest for an edc fb. Turned the brkt micro canadian down because of the limited options with the sheath. Thinking of izula or rat 3 because of the limitless sheath carry options. Still up in the air. But I want a brkt so bad! Love the convex!

There are any number of makers here in the forums or elsewhere that can make you any type of sheath you like for any knife you have. Pick your knife based on the knife, not the sheath.

Thus far, the most discrete fixed blade I can EDC (somewhat regularly) is a Strider DB, because it has the shortest handle which port rides the least when carried. For me, handle length and shape will play a role in finding my next EDC blade.

Thanks bigfatts, I'm kind of new here still learning about this stuff. I didn't know someone could make one for me though. I got to find out what more can go on here, for knife nuts like us!

I have not tried carrying a FB for EDC but I'm interested in trying it. However I don't think anything can beat the convenience of a good folder with a pocket clip and one-handed operation. I think people carry FB's because they are tougher than a folder, so they can accept a bit of tradeoff in convenience.

I have a friend that carries a FB in a leather sheath on his belt. Holding the knife in his hand he places his forefinger along the blade and uses the tip of his finger to find the mouth of the sheath, automatically positioning the knife to go back into the sheath. This works pretty well but is slower than me putting my folder back in my pocket.
