EDC fixed blade recommendation

Bob Dozier Personal would be my choice. His horizontal shealths make knives pretty much un-noticed and they are very fast and secure.
 
Dpx has some solid choices. I also love the fallkniven sk 1 and 3. Beauties.

Do you prefer the D2 steel on the BK 24 over the 1095 Bk14? It's about a 20$ difference in cost but I think it is worth it.

Very generally, I believe that the D2 offers better corrosion resistence but will be harder to sharpen and not quite as tough as the 1095cv. D2 may pull ahead i edge retention somewhat, but I don't know how much difference you would really see in use between the two.
 
As much as I love all of the custom knives, they don't fit into my budget. I think I have narrowed it down to either the BK24 or Rat 3. And no, I am not going to buy both of them LOL
