EDC fixed blade

Why a fixed blade if you are doing only light tasks? Aside from self defense or certain jobs I don't see the need. That said maybe the new swamp rat with 3 inch blade. You would have to strip it.

I personally have a Bark River PSK and highly recommend it although the next blade I was looking towards buying is a Micheal Morris Friction Folder, although its not a FB like what you are looking for I like the fact that he uses files as his blanks for his blades and his reasoning behind using files which he also uses in his fixed blades.

If you dont want a coating the Bravo Necker from Bark River would be my choice. If you dont mind a coating the ESEE Izula would be my choice.

Lots of good answers in this thread, thanks guys
Looks like I have some research work to do :D

Believe it or not, but some people will freak-out at the sight of a Swiss Army knife. I've read about several such experiences here over the years.
Yep, they see a SAK and the first thing they think is "stabbing someone" - but you are the loony because you carry a knife
Sad world we live in

Obviously at work we don't always get to exercise our personal freedoms (clothing, hair-style, personal opinions, etc). Still, in choosing between the two knives you linked in your opening post, I stand by my assertion that if people were inclined to freak over the first knife, that they would likely freak over the second.
By the way, are you sure that you are allowed to have a fixed-blade at work? Many employers are quite strict about such things.

There is no official regulation, but so far its pretty relaxed. Few guys carry leathermans, heck we even got SAKs as a gift from the company.
Thats why I don't want to overdo it, I thought the M2 with the flat blade looks somewhat like a kitchen-type knife when you have it in your hand.
The Bark Rivers look quite civil too, maybe I'll save up for one of those

The laws over here sadly prevent me from carrying 1-hand folders with locks without "legal reason"
Wouldn't be a problem at work, but I'd have to carry it in a locked container everywhere else
And I don't want to lose a nice folder (and pay a fee) because a police officer thinks my reason isn't legal enough
That said, fixed blades are nice for food prep, because they are easier to clean

Wow, that's an impressive list. I think you may have made his decision a bit more difficult. lol
Heh, you sure did, thanks Dan57

CB- Wut about a Becker Necker?
Would fit with the name for sure, maybe I'll wait for the D2 version

Will also add to my part of DAN57's thread

...soon...

It looks REALLY nice, but the blade is a little short.
I'm gonna check out his work for sure though
Is that carbon fiber on the handle ?
