EDC Fixed that is available to do useful work as...

Since a utility knife can be EDC'd I don't find this answer to be any useful.
.
Thats because you didnt think.
The OP was just as nebulous.
Did he ask is any EDC could be used as a kitchen knife or did he ask for knife model suggestions for EDC/kitchen use? Size, materials, what exactly is he/she asking?
Have a little respect for the forum members who want to help and click on your thread. Put just a little effort into it.

Bakr Bilt.jpg

I use this Bakr Bilt Model 1 that I EDC to cut up cauliflower and broccoli in the kitchen. The 2 3/8" blade gives great control for smaller tasks, much like a paring knife. Just looking for ways to incorporate my favorite knives into other areas, I guess, though using them for kitchen tasks has gotten me a lot more familiar with my knives and how they handle / work, as well as how long they'll hold a good edge.

Your advice was very helpful and gave me a new perspective Again, thank you so much...

As much as I appreciate the not too subtle sarcasm, Ill gladly help with any well thought out question you might have.
Could you maybe ask in a tad more well rounded manner?

NB If you had spent that kind of effort on the OP, it might have narrowed the answers down some (steel, price etc?)

Hell, man, I get out my Winkler Woodsman to break open squash, pumpkins and heads of cabbage, though I'm sure a heavy kitchen knife or cleaver would work. The 3/16" blade stock isn't great for slicing, but I still use it in the kitchen sometimes, if I haven't used the knife in the out of doors for a while. It's another way to get comfortable with having the knife in hand. It's a 4 1/4" blade.

Fallkniven s-1. Rat3 Ltd ed.(thinner d2 blade, no guard)I use my (folding) spyderco military in the kitchen all the time. Bk16(stripped), countless other customs whose names I can’t recall entirely. Entrek javalina.

Ontario Rat 3, great EDC and useful for many purposes, though the coating might dampen your enthusiasm in the kitchen. :( How about browsing a couple of knife sites (e.g. knife center, blade hq) and tell us what you liked, or didn't, and why. ;)

The Ontario Robeson knives are 4.2” blade length and are uncoated d2 steel with wood handles and leather sheath in the $90-110 price range. Do you have a price in mind?

Yes, price range, steel preference, size, etc use would have been useful.

Very nice indeed, Thanks. (under $150.?)

I use the Mora 2000 and the Fallkniven F1. Maybe ESEE’s stainless models would be an option?
