I have a streamlight protac 2L takes 2@ CR123, they also have a 1L which takes 1 @CR123 battery, the 2L lasts me quite a while but as others have chimed in if you use it a lot it would cost a lot in batteries. They do get warm on the low setting and hot after prolong use at the high level, I've never had an issue with that though if it get too warm i switch it to low. I have been eyeing the zebra light as other option for the use of AA batteries.
