I'm looking for a flipper for general EDC use. I'm retired and don't need another hard use folder and would like to stay under $200.00. I like the look of the ZT 566 but was wondering if there was anything else maybe a little more dressy, that would be worth giving a look at.

Take a look at the Kershaw Skyline if you just want the flipper. If you're game for an assisted opener, look at the Kershaw Oso-Sweet or Volt II. I have all three and like the Oso-Sweet best. Also retired and just like playing with knives :-)

I just recently bought the kershaw cryo and I really like it. It was also my first flipper though.

How about a Kizer Ki3404A2? It's a smaller flipper with some very handsome anodized scales. It's a bit on the flashy side, but that makes it a nice conversation piece if you use it around others. If it's a bit too much for you the Ki3404A3 has plain titanium scales.

So many great suggestions, I'll be reading or watching reviews all night long.

Here is a great one...the ZT 0770 Carbon Fiber flipper. Fires hard. Very stable; great lockup. ONLY three ounces.
Price is maybe 180 or so for one in Elmax. My favorite ZT, and I've had many.

Used Spyderco southard would keep you under $200

Yep. My favorite ZT as well and the only one I have I'd consider to be a gentleman's knife.

Amazing little knife, it is my one and only ZT. It weighs next to nothing and the low ride clip is perfect.

I also have the ZT 0770, non-CF. Terrific knife, and saved a few dollars (for more knives).

Can also recommend Benchmade Torrent 890BK - mine was $140. Dressed like a Tuxedo with sculpted/layered G10 to look a bit like ebony wood which flows into the black (CeraKote over 154CM, Benchmade informed me via email), it is a visual stunner. Also available with uncoated blade. Make sure, though, that you know it is an "assisted opening" knife with thumb stud release. Opens/locks like the crack of a whip! IMHO, a bit "dressier" looking than my ZT 0770.

Honestly I'd stay away from the Cryo. Mine developed MASSIVE play after a couple months, I had to take it apart and bend it to make it solid. Also speedsafe.... Ick :barf:

I'll second the Boker Ti Kwaiken flipper in VG-10. Beautiful, sleek and sexy.

Definitely agree with this suggestion! Maybe also consider the Kershaw Knockout. The Elmax LE is pretty awesome and very affordable.
