So having finally broken in my skyline, to the point where it flips open like an AO with finger pressure, and then consequently becoming obsessed with the action and snick noise, I am now seeking a worthy companion to said skyline, namely, another slick manual flipper under $100. This will be an edc knife, so thin, light, easy to carry trumps massively overbuilt here. I also have no problem with frequent sharpening, so the steel isn't terribly important. I'm looking at the chill, zing, and ram from kershaw, but I'm open to other brands, provided they are just as much fun to play with. Thoughts?

try the kershaw od-1, its a slightly different style of flipper. frame lock design and 14c28n steel. great little knife

Leek. leeks are some of the most fun you will ever have flicking a knife. if you can handle a bigger knife, Junkyard dog II. that is the most addicting knife i have ever owned.

EDIT: shoot, manual. ok, ener-g II. small, light, cool flipper design. very mechanical sound. i still think you would enjoy the leek, though.

Kershaw RAM is the smoothest flipper around. After using a RAM, none of the others are quite the same.

JYD II, I've had my eye on one for a while. I think that will be my next Kershaw purchase.

I'd say jyd ii in composite I've realy enjoyed mine it's about the perfect size for the most of the task I use it for also the d2 tool steel has some serious edge retention and it's one of the fastest flippers i've seen.

CRKT Suma. Its a very surprising knife all around, solid lockup, slim, amazing fit and finish from a company that I swear never used to be this precise.

Another vote for the Kershaw RAM and have you looked at the SOG Vulcan Mini?? It's also a great knife but closer to $90 or so.
