i was looking at a folding knife kit, a linerlock...generally, do knife kits come with any instruction on assembly, and/or is the assembly simple to figure out for someone who has never built one before..? id post the exact link, but last time i did that it got removed....>.> its on knifekits.com under folding knife kits, model gx6...ill put the link up for now but itll prolly end up removed:P http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/produc...&products_id=5
I want to give it ebony wood scales, im just worried about the assembly

Do you have any tools? Are you good with your hands? I'm sure there are basic instructions and the main part to the build will be sanding the wood scales and putting a final finish on it that you like. From what I remember they don't have the best steel in them but are useable. Only one way to find out.

AUS-8 steel, heat treated steel...if built right, would this be a reliable knife do u think?

Benchmade recently acquired lone wolf knives, they make many knives that would fit your bill, they for the most part are very good values.

Also, I would consider CAS Hanwei knives, they Have many knives that may interest you. A personal favorite of mine is their Teton Lockback with stacked leather, you can open it one handed but not that easily, they make the same knife with a thumb stud, but I prefer the nail nick.
