EDC for Bushcraft?
A definite yes .... if it's a Fiddleback EDC

I had a great evening walk in the local park today.
It had rained in the afternoon and the plants were still wet.

The trails smelled of honeysuckle and wild roses.
I took along my Fiddleback EDC and decided to give it a whirl as a bushcrafter.
The knife is 7" OAL and has a 3 5/8 blade. It weighs 3.5 oz.
It has a really comfy handle with Fiddleback's beautiful dual wood scales.

I have been carrying it in my pocket in a sharpshooter clovis sheath

Here are some in-hand photos

I put the EDC through a few bushcraft tasks.
I used the spine to get some fatwood fuzz and added a couple of fine fatwood shavings made with the blade.

A few strikes on my ferro rod and ...

I tried batoning the knife to get to the dry center of a branch.

And I made a couple of fuzz sticks.

After all of that the knife was still sharp. A quick strop and it was back to hair popping.

The Fiddleback EDC performed really well.
I wouldn't choose to have a knife this small as my only knife on a longer trip but as a in pocket backup and small woods bumming knife it is hard to beat.

They are my favourites of all the fiddleback designs !!!

Only thing I don't like are the huge lanyard holes but I realise that they are his trademark !!!!

Good stuff

I like the fat leaf shape of the blade on a knife this size, looks like you could really choke up well for small tasks and gain fine control of that point.

Hey, thats a sweet review. That piece of walnut was really beautiful too. Lots going on, but really subtle. If you don't like the large lanyard tubes we can do a 1/4" tube, or none if that floats your boat.

You can do that as well as easily slice through a 3/4 inch sapling.

Pitt,
I like that farmer knife.

Nice little review, thanks for posting it. got right down to the nitty gritty with what we all want to know!

curvy little thang! I like it!
