Something a little different than the EDCs I've offered here in the past. Same design, but this one is ground from a Nicholson file, reheat treated of course. There is a hamon, but I did not etch the blade to really make it stand out. I liked the constrast of the highly finished blade with the rough old file handle. Thanks for looking.

Can't say for sure, but most old Nicholson Files are either W-2 or 1095 as I understand it. During the heat treat, I quenched it just past non-magnetic, then tempered at 400.

Ha! Could be a little tricky holding onto the blade though! This one is sold, thanks for looking.

I'm fairly confident the answer is no. But does anyone know of any stainless files? I mean, I think this idea could make for an excellent "necker"...but carbon steel is out of the question. (At least for my sweaty ole self.)
