EDC gadgets

I realize this is the Blade Forum, but do you guys really carry 3 or 4 knives and no firearm?! Is this because of your state laws? My EDC just would not be complete without a comforting 28 ounces in a strongside IWB holster. I hope I don't have to defend myself with my BM 710!

As you can see from my last post, I carry a H&K P7 M8 handgun in addition to my knives. I view the knives primarily as tools. The P7, and an ASP Key Defender pepper spray, are my weapons.

My impression, from past discussions, is that very few of us rely on knives for defense unless our local laws prevent us from carrying a firearm. Unfortunately, that still leaves a lot of people who have to hope a blade will be sufficient.

Conceal&carry permit for gun is next to nill here in IL. I to carry an OC palm defender for my main source of defence plus i have my cane. my knives are carried for utility purpose (1) & last ditch weapon (2). With all the laws in place to make it most impossiable to protect ons self a blade is better than nothing at all. At least it gives me a small sense of security. PS notice i said a small sense of security.
 
Self defense? I carry a Visor with a GPS module and a cell phone. I'm prepared to call in an artillery barrage on my own position.
