I'm curious , why ?

David's kinda right, above...
I tend to like better edge resistance.
Or, Really Tough steel.
Beater steels.
Like on big Choppers, I don't think 3v is a good choice....there are Better choices for choppers. AEBL is better for That.

I think 3v isn't best for edc.
I don't think 3v is great for hunters.

Personally I think 3v is maybe best for Rambo like survival knives

Don't get me wrong, it's ok...
But I think it's a little overrated

"God created men, but Samuel Colt made them equal"

I like 3V very much, now that I have made some knives with it, and carry one daily. Also like AEB-L very much. Also like MagnaCut, and 15N20. In my environment, all four of those work perfectly for me, with the sole exception of 15N20 in the hottest summer months, when it can pick up some rust. Do I have a favorite? Not any more, because I have enough experience using and maintaining knives now that the balance of compromises is trivial, and diamond is my Samuel Colt.

AEB-L is my favorite to work with though.

My most favorites ! 🤪

Seriously , I value toughness very highly . I hate when a knife breaks .

Other stuff , I can deal with . Rust , needs sharpening ... no big problem .

Broken blade is not something I can fix or compensate for . :(

Yup, fully agree......But, for toughness I prefer 8670, 15n20, 80crv2, A8mod, Definitely AEB-L, and maybe Procut under the right circumstances.

3V doesn't have a strong place in That, id just choose something else, I guess

I think most makers and users agree that both cruwear and magnacut are pretty awesome, doesn't really matter much which one ya used......

Me......I'm not around saltwater, so corrosion isn't as important to me. I tend to favor the slightly tougher cruwear. Also cruwear is pretty ok as resisting rust (for me)

I generally think cruwear and magnacut are better choices for most knives, rather than 3v.

What I'm curious about is Larrin's new one...."Maxi" is That one going to eliminate Everything?

That will seem weird in 3 years, and there is Only 3 knife steels being used
