EDC hazards?

I've carried SF lights for about ten years now. While working one day at work I could not figure out what that burning smell was . Kept following me around in the work van and into the jobsite. I was my 6R that was on and burning the nylon case it was riding in.

A long time ago, I was getting ready to go out at my friends house. She was already dressed in a pair of fitted jeans. I'm ready to go and she is now dancing around the living room wildly trying to take off her jeans. She just overfilled her zippo that was in her front pocket. I am on the floor  :D :D :D . No sympathy from me. She takes a shower and we finally leave the house to go out. She is driving and as we pull out of the driveway I ask her casually if she has a light :D She doesnt even look over to me when she hands over the zippo and tells me to F off.

from time to time I bring up the subject and the reply is the same

I have lit the wrong end of a cigarette more than once while very drunk.

I saw someone trying to fish out something from their pocket and had a weird look and pulled out a very bloody hand :D Had to make the run to the hospital. Smooth move magoo.

Two 123 Lithium batteries fit perfect in one of those plastic orange match safes you can pick up anywhere. I tried the ziplock thing but they always tore.

Tough, waterproof, and easy to spot if dropped...for less than a dollar...

Even better (free...), get some APS film cans from your local photo lab - two CR123's fit snugly, when you need them just squeeze the can & they drop out. Pretty water-resistant, too.

I thought about that, but didn't think I could fit two of them in there. Now I'll have to try it. :)

I had a tip-up carry folder open in my pocket once. The blade cut through my pants and, as I was walking, I felt something snag my pants so I tried to brush it off with my hand. I felt my finger tingle and saw blood spurting out ala Kill Bill. :D

Tip up carry is an example of why you dont fight gravity! :D

I've poked myself trying to get a pen out of my pocket... no blood, but still hurts when it grabs ya by that piece of skin between your thumb and index finger! :p

Biggest problem I have with EDC is too much EDC. Cargo pants tempt me to overload and then ... the dreaded belt dilemma. Do I cinch the belt tight enough to keep the pants from falling off, or do I loosen it enough so I can breathe?

Too much STUFF.

Once in a while, I catch a fingernail (ouch) on my Axis lock button, while I put my hand in my front pocket. It will be seeing a file, if it happens again soon.
