EDC II Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

It's great weather, so I got to get outside and play with my knives a bit. I carried the Delica 4 the last couple of days and today isn't different. I decided to grab the SRM 710 out of my shelf to play around with both of 'em. I did not previously realize that the cutting edge length of the 710 is larger than that of the delica! The delica is a lot more comfortable in the hand though. I do prefer the framelock locking mechanism of the 710. The 710 was still razor sharp and performed better in the wood-cutting tasks I put it through than the delica, which hasn't been brought to a razor edge in a while simply because its working edge is good enough. The difference between a razor edge and a decent working edge is baffling though, regardless of the steel. The delica does keep that good working edge longer than other 8cr13mov knices I have, but now I'm just stating the obvious:-).

tl;dr The delica is one of my go-to EDC knives, but I'm going to start putting the 710 in my EDC-rotation as well.

EDIT: knife gifs! :-)

Absolutely loving this blade. It's my first higher-end-ish knife and the quality is just am amazing jump. Solid as a rock; it's still a little stiff, but it's coming around.

I've been wanting an Emerson for a while now. I've never seen one in real life before though. Any thoughts on it/them for me?

I've have a lot of Emersons and I love them all. It seems to go either way: You either love them or hate them. Most people love them because their reliable. It's strictly a tactical folder and it's meant to only do one thing: work under pressure. That being said, I have hard used my Emersons to their fullest and couldn't be happier. Most people hate them because of their thick blades and can't cut food properly. As Ernest Emerson said himself: Emersons aren't meant to cut tomatoes.

Pricey? Yes. That's only because it's 100% American made down to the screws. Never had a big problem with mine, but Emerson customer service is top notch. Emerson's reliability is very great in the military side too, so take that into account.

I would honestly say to put one in your hands, that's how I got my first Emerson.

Nice box. (woah … Deja Vu) …

Today is a work out back day, so I might give the HEST 2.0 a spin (lock is still a bit sticky), along with a small Spydie for the runs to the store, etc - probably a G-10 D'Fly.

ninjarider how is that enlan holding up i am eye the el04 in micarta

It is an amazing knife for the price! The "axis lock" took a few days of opening/closing to break in, but its very smooth, very sharp and the fit and finish is great! I was going to the get EL-04 G-10 model, I just like the handle shape of the 02 better, and the EL-02B is a nice looking stonewashed blade. And, it is NOT a small knife. I might pick up the EL-04 G-10 within the next year. Just based on the price + quality, there really is no reason to not pick one up if you are curious. I got mine from a guy on Ebay who is a USA seller, so I didn't have to deal with shipping from China and I got my knife faster.

Okay, since the pattern perfectly lines up... how in hell did you dye G10? :D
looks awesome by the way.

Thanks bro! I told you I used a little razzle-dazzle:D;) I actually used scarlet RIT dye to dye the handles. It was my first time doing it and I think it came out very well. my buddy is talkin' about getting a digi/dlc one and dying it blue which I think would be rad.
