Funny thing, when I was a kid I would do about anything to avoid gardening. I usually talked the old man into allowing me to cut and split the firewood for the year in lieu of having to sweat it out in the garden. Now I do it on my own and look forward to it. Funny how that kind of thing happens.

I had a very similar experience...now I wish I had paid more attention when I was younger. Great looking beans, by the way!

Just to stay on topic. My Kutmaster jack had a similar workout in the garden: trimming string for tying up tomatoes, cutting squash and zucchini loose, peeling a fresh cucumber for me and the dogs to split, and pruning back the tomato plants so the fruits will ripen.

How thick is the handle on that, and what model? Looks great!

Edit: I mean the knife, the 1911 looks good too.

Thanks man, just saw your post. It's a GEC #72 lockback in red elk. It's not terribly thick so at 3 3/4" closed it rides nicely in the pocket. I'd say its about equal to a Case sodbuster in thickness? Next time I carry it I'll take a comparison pic with another knife.
