I can't seem to put down my BM 940, and I don't necessarily consider myself a benchmade fan.
I'd have to say I'm more impressed with Spyderco's ergos.
But the day I got my 940 and gave my blocky/stubby Native 5 a vacation; I just keep carrying that sweet slim Osbourne design.
I had one years ago in the late 90's when it first came out and I remembered the axis lock on it.
I believe those were 154cm, when they first started using the steel.
I considered it a "fancier" knife then, so when I decided I wanted a prettier BM to match my other Native, the dressy carbon fiber series 4, I looked to the 940 AGAIN.
I like older proven designs and tend to go back to them, instead of always following the latest thing companies offer.
It still looks "sharp" after all these years and all the other knives that have come out since it's debut, probably why it's still produced.
I just didn't like the LAME painted clip, they don't even anodize them anymore or even put U.S.A. on them.
So I swapped it out for an updated BM clip found on my Bradley Alias II (also BM made).
It looks SO much better now.
BLUE would be better, but I believe they're more expensive limited editions.
