Just this old thing

My newest EDC acquisition.

This will be the EDC until I get my BK14. After doing a practical small knife class, I am seeing the merits of a small fixed blade as opposed to carrying a large folder (275 Adamas).

I still carry my Griptilian, regardless, so the BK14 will be my second knife on my belt.

I have a Folts minimalist also. Its a good coin pocket knife! At the price, I never care about what crazy thing I decide to cut with it either.

It's a bk-11 with the black coating stripped off and micarta scales added, its a great knife

dig it medicdave. I'm new to the forum, but I've been thinking of putting up a thread that goes something like this:

I do a lot of plain clothes work in a city PD. I'm looking for a fixed blade knife and sheath combo that can be easily concealed IWB. I would prefer for it to be easy to switch position around the waistline depending on the job. I've seen Chris Reeves' Professional Soldier, The Esee series, Scrapyard knives, Grayman Dinkas, and a few others. I want it to be max 4". I've got a DPX HEST milspec, but I'm not sure if its what I'm looking for (I like it on my EDC bag tho!). I prefer a knife with handles or at least para wrap.

Anyway, your bk-11 caught my eye. Good looking kit!

No problem! My brother has the super road house, and it's an impressive knife. Super hefty and sturdy seeming.

I've been really happy with it. One thing that might take away from it for some is that the 4.2" blade can get a gasp as it waves out of the pocket. I personally don't care though. I don't really roll with polite company all too often. I had my first Emerson stolen in Cambodia (pleasure traveling Angkor Wat, not doing any secretive and probably lied about gov't black ops!). I've purchased 4 or 5 more since. I might have stuck with the CQC 15, but it was the super roadhouse I had drilled for left hand carry and that's what fits into my weapons system at the moment.

@flatblackcapo can you list the things in the photo? that tanto cleaver thing looks awesome! The tool is interesting too
Sure Frank, The tanto is something I made.I don't really have a name for it. The multitool is a Spyderco Spyderwrench.I think they stopped making them a few years ago. They are pretty awesome multitools. The traditional pocketknife is a GEC 79 with ebony scales.

Well you did an awesome job with the nameless tanto. I now have "mini tanto meat cleaver" on my list of wants! ... Maybe giant tanto meat cleaver too

RIGHT NOW....I just changed out my Zero Tolerance Hinderer 0560CBCF for my brand new, just arrived, been waiting for 2 years for......Direware Solo V4 flipper. Talk about a beast of a knife and such smooth flipping action. I am beyond impressed with this knife and will put it to heavy use.

I keep reaching for my Protech Integrity. It works great with all my pants and is the perfect size. [Warning: crappy mobile phone pic ahead]
