Why do folks carry the EDC folder and a Vic Cadet? Is it the 'two is one, one is none' mentality?

I just find myself using my EDC. If I had a second knife, it would likely never get used.

You're asking a member of a knife forum why they're carrying more than one knife?

We're knife enthusiasts, there doesn't need to be a specific reason other than it makes him happy. I only have 2 knives on me today and I'm feeling a little light, usually I carry 3 (well technically 4 if you count the ladybug on my keys).

I often carry two knives. There are two main reasons why: 1. a traditional or small knife to use around city people and a large knife for food etc. 2. A folder and a fixed blade, which naturally have different uses.

I also carry a small bladeless multi tool for its tools and for when I can't have/use a knife.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I personally haven't found a 'need' for other tools beyond my EDC right now. Makes sense if you need a bottle opener, screw driver, whatever.

Good points. Actually in addition to my Native I posted earlier, technically I carry my Super Tinker and Classic every where, every day because one is on my keys and the other in my chest pocket of my coat. They're just there, and I often forget I even have them.

I also almost always carry a SAK along with my primary. Always more than I need but what can I say, I like knives. :)

My Lord Paul, I just love the Hunt fixed blade. Those fantastic green scales with the red liners just tickles me where...... ummmm.... nevermind..... :nevreness:

Okay, I got it Erik, we won't go there :D Thank you for the compliment however .

I'm not sure if Todd still does smaller fixed blades these days but he hit this one out of the park I think. It had originally come up in the "fixed blade" section and I was juuuuust a little to late, then when I saw it on the secondary market I had to grab it.
