That's crazy! I can't imagine how long it took for him to perfect that. thanks again for sharing!

I just yesterday bought a SOG NW Ranger and it is in my bag now. I dont have pictures of it yet, so I must loan the dealers picture. I dit not buy the knife from this dealer, but from another, non BF-dealer so I will not mention it here.

If you dont mind, I will post my impressions of the knife. I have read some reviews of this one and they were very favourable. The handle is one of the best I have experienced. It gives a very good grip. The texture is almost too agressive, but handle shape is neutral and comfortable. Blade was shawing sharp out of box. I gave it a carefull stropping to finish it and the result was like "EEK!!"; the edge is so sharp now it scares me.

I have interest in blade-oriented martial arts and I did some solo training with the knife. Switching from hammer or fencing grip to icepick or "pikal" grip is effortless. The knife is light and balanced, a joy to handle.

The ridiculous grooves in the guard almost ruin the experience, but I will round them. Now they are the only thing that irritates in this product. Please SOG, get rid of them!! Now they feel like the the guard has been attached wrong way and should be the other way round, the grooves on the blade side.

Despite this criticism I am pleased with the knife. The sheath is a good quality leather sheath. I think will customize it to my taste (I am one of those guys that can't leave well enough alone) :) I allready moved the retaining strap lower, next to the guard. Let's see what I will invent, I have some ideas conserning iwb/inside the belt - carry.
