A decades old, no-name, wooden handle, slaughterhouse-issue skinner attached horizontally to the back of my belt in a Taurus sheath,
lanyarded with a small dog's long thin chain leash, & hidden by either a jacket or a jersey tied around my waist, for 2 legitimate reasons (the constable agreed with me);
- defending my JRT, & myself, against any more APBT attacks as I walk thru the park to the ex-quarry
-butchering any 1/2 size rabbits the JRT kills.
The steel is only for blindly guiding it back to the sheath, it actually blunts the sharp edge achieved with whetstone, diamond stick & strop.
I've been trying to get Richard Van Dijk of Hoiho Knives across the harbour to make me a bespoke carbon steel knife for $400, but hes too busy making $1500 Damascus knives for the rich, so I ordered a Svord Deluxe General Purpose as a more comfortable replacement for the aforementioned slaughterhouse skinner.
I'll try to get a local leather worker to make a bespoke sheath lined with unwashed sheepskin so the blade is constantly lanolinised.
