Friggin' gorgeous knife Scott! Who makes the better front flipper? Thorburn or Bull?

It's my birthday I can carbon fiber if I want to!

Happy Birthday!

Where did you buy that Nilte Erik? Can't find anywhere that sells them.

Do you live in lower MN? Cause round here (Northern) there's a descent amount of them and the count was up from what i've heard. Haven't heard a whole lot of people getting a ton though. Finally got 6 over the weekend. Going back out Thurs-Sunday. Hopefully will get more.

I got the Nilte off the exchange here. They didn't make very many of them, there was a Finnish online retailer that had one in stock a while back. I haven't seen any US retailers with them.

I live around the Twin Cities. I did see 4 or 5 grouse when I was hiking up in Northern MN a couple weeks ago.

Fresh from the post office, a first gen ZT 0550. :)

Nice knife and a great pic Kirby!

I am carrying the KaBar Coppersmith Single Blade Trapper today.

Most people who have them had said the same thing. Absolutely love that clean look that front flippers have though.

Oh and BTW, I'm carrying my Shirogorov Mod 95T again today. This one really hasn't left my pocket much lately. And it's got a cousin coming to live with me on the way later this week.

Sweet blade! Love all of the Shirogorovs! Now I just need the funds and a place to order one!

There are a fair number of places to get them honestly as long as you look close enough. The trick is finding the right one, which is always a long journey. I finally got this one and I'm very happy with it.
In regards to the money...well that one's harder. Not gonna lie, took me quite a while to justify this one to myself, and I actually paid a very reaonble price for it.

difficult to say , Andre makes amazing front flippers and the attention to detail is evident but something about the simplicity in design of the Gazza Shamwari appeals to me greatly ... had the opportunity to handle both and it's a tough call.

me , I am content (for now) with my Jason Guthrie Ranger (another up and coming SA maker) :) , 100g of classitac (yup I coined it:p) goodness!

Shiro's a fantastic knife.... gotta love me some M390!

Thanks Erik and i have to agree with djtSA that it's a tough call, Andre's are probably a little smoother but overall i prefer the Bull as it's lighter and thinner, cuts better and carries better plus the simplicity of the knife appeals to me greatly.

That's a gorgeous trapper Erik and you did the knife justice with that pic!

Justifying it is the big problem for me, because I got most of the money to buy one. I'm from the Netherlands so looking for a place in Europe to get one. Or I have to pay loads of shipping and import taxes..

You won't be disappointed, iv'e owned over a dozen of them and EVERYONE of them was superb.

Ah, yeah that's going to be tough. Honestly I don't know much about retailers in Europe, but you shouldn't worry too much about the Shiro if you can find one at a reasonable price and location. They are excellent knives, and I have 2 (3rd on the way) now, and I only got my 95T a little over a month ago I think, and that was the first one. So in maybe just over a month I went from not owning any Shiros to owning 3, and I would do it again.

The only slight issue is you should try and find the newest Shiro in terms of generation you can. Some of the older generations have some minor issues, but they have worked pretty much all of those out in the newer generations.

Alright thanks for the tip. I'll keep looking for shirogorovs in Europe as I do now. Found a dealer in Europe with some nice prices. PM me if you want the link. I will just check forums as well , and maybe I'll own one in no time!

There was a little burst of F3s that went up on the forums over the last few days, but they come in waves here. If you want to PM me I certainly won't decline, but My walet is a little tight right now because of all the things that have come in in the last few weeks.

What a great day for the rotation today! Carried the 0566 all day at school, and then came home to two brand new blades! Not sure how much pocket time the ritter mini grip will see considering how slick that 0562 is, but maybe on my light carry days.
