Happy St. Paddy's Day, folks!*

*I say that grudgingly. Third Generation Scot here.

Someone here asked how I carry my L.T. Wright Patriot. First of all, I always carry it along with my Vic SwissTool Spirit:

And they both reside in their stock leather sheaths on my left hip (right hip is occupied by a pistol of some sort) - they ride in this exact configuration, and I draw the knife left-handed:

Haha! :D

This just made me laugh, but then it also got me thinking: I'm mostly Irish, but also Scottish, and British...someone somewhere along the family tree got very confused, or definitely wasn't living at home anymore! ;)

Couldn't find my trowel. My 6 got digging and tilling duty. It was a cloudy but bright day so the black looks like grey.

This clip is 1,000,000x better than that little paper clip that ZT sends with it...
It'll see double the pocket time now:thumbup:

Is this real? In Canada? That sounds ridiculous.

The canadian laws about knives is that every gravity, automatic and weapon designed knives ( push dagger etc) is illegal. There is no federal restriction on blade lenght, and there is no provincial laws on carrying a knife but there is a lot of municipal laws and unwritten laws so its pretty much up to the officer to judge

If the charges were dropped it means they had nothing on him and it was BS. Our Nazi police system prays on people who lack the knowledge to defend themselves against their accusations. He could fight the ticket, unfortunately the lawyer fees would cost the same as his fine (or more). I've been pulled over before on 'suspicion of narcotics' (I hit a skunk and the cop accused me of having weed in the vehicle lol), when he asked me to empty my pockets road side I had 4 blades on me. As long as you state purpose for them (and it can't be self defense) they got nothing.

Makes me sad hearing these types of stories, and it furthers my distrust in our policing system. I understand that not all officers are like that (I have many friends on the force) but a box cutter coming from work?

Bah, back on topic!

Thanks much BB, appreciate the review. I can't believe your selling your 0454. I'd have thought that would be a keeper.

Mike

Functionally, they are equally as good. Asthetically, the 0454 is better.

They both have the best ergonomics I've ever felt, and the blade length to handle length ratio is spot on. The 0452 has a deep detent, requiring more pressure from your finger tip than the 0454. They are both about equally as smooth when opening/closing, however, the 0454 has less resistance since the lockbar pressure isn't as strong. I much prefer the 0454's flipping action over the 0452.

Obviously, the 0454 is nicer looking since the carbon fiber has a finer twill weave, a contoured shape, and a 3D machined clip, backspacer, and sub-framelock. Can't forget the composite blade too. But in hand, the 0452 is every bit as good as the 0454. It's a lot slimmer, and has a slightly more "organic" feel to it, but it will cut and ride just like the 0454 does.

Whoa!
When did I say that? Lol

The 0454 is one of my favorites. It's the flipper that made me love flippers:D I don't think I can get rid of it lol!

Came in this weekend off the secondary market. Gave it a good tune up and some pocket time today to test her out. Now it's getting mailed out tomorrow to my good friend who is in the Army and deserves a great knife. He is going to have quite a nice surprise in the mail next week. :D

This was as close as I had time to get to an Irish meal. Three green knives today to make up for it
