Long Live the Front-Flipper! :D

Thanks Kevin, it's really a nice knife, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a sodbuster frame on steroids and with a lock back. The lock up is super solid and the fit and finish is great. They are made for S&S by GEC with their specs (steel liners, lock back and birds eye pivot). Bigger knife than I usually carry so I bought a belt sheath for it. The mud bug gets a thumbs up from me.
Thanks, Erik. I hope they make a Mini Mud Bug someday soon.

A little pocket overview... i.e. Dump. Don't love that word for such pocket beauty. :-)

Damn it, Todd. That's a hard act to follow!!!!

Here's what I carried today... Good thing for the lanyard, or else that would have been a pretty drab looking group.

Leatherman Freestyle, Marathon GSAR, Strider SnG

You'll be fine. We have more relaxed knife carry laws that you guys do in Seattle. I always have to downsize my EDC when I head to Washington. Have a great time up here!

I wasn't worried about carrying in Vancouver. I read up on the laws and they are, indeed, very lax. I was just worried about riding the amtrak itself and their security procedures. After all, it's still international travel and i expected that my luggage would be inspected and all sharp objects would be taken from me. They only have a random security process. Most people get on the train without even going through a metal detector or get their bags scanned.

I just got back from my Canada trip and can confirm this from the two bouncers who found my knife on me upon entering some clubs last night. They didn't mind it at all. I'm guessing they're more concerned about guns...

P.S. in the same way, don't worry about WA state laws! since you said you're downsizing in WA, do you usually carry a 4in long blade? You're allowed only any folder up to 3.5in. Also, just always justify your carry with a tool and/or utility purpose. Seattle does not allow fixed blades of any kind but i still carry a small one. Fixed blade carry requires a legitimate reason like "i'm going camping today" or "im driving out of town hunting so i need this", etc.
