Quiet
how do you like the HS Bronze Age ?
fountain or roller ?
It’s one of my two favorite pens. I have a lot of FPs, they’re all I use these days. This particular Visconti is a fountain pen in Fine, but it’s Visconti’s new 18k gold nib so it’s super smooth.
I have the med nib in 18k and its a gusher
on good paper it’s awesome on bad ........ a lot of ink
How is filling yours ?
Mine seems to empty rather quickly
as for the Lamy 2000
beast of an edc pen and just does it all well
50 plus year design what can you say
I sign a log of contracts so I like having a rollerball variant to let people who are not used to fountain pens an easier go
I have a matching Visconti Dark Ages RB in route
I have quite a few pens and rotate them often. These are some of the ones that have been coming with me everyday. I carry 4 pens in my journal and 2-3 on my person.

My Fine is also a very wet writer, but then that's what Homo Sapiens pens are known for!
I'll say this, filling a HS from a bottle is a pain in the ass because it's VERY difficult to get a full fill, given that the pen doesn't have an ink well. Let me tell you, the best money I ever spent was getting the Visconti Traveling Inkwell to go with the pen. It is nearly impossible NOT to get a full fill when properly using the Inkwell. I highly recommend it, and you can get them pretty easily on the Bay cheaper than you can from one of the big e-tailers. I am glad to have the gold nib version of the pen, because the 23K Palladium "Dreamtouch" nibs were super temperamental. When you got a good one, it was amazing. Problem is, you had something like a 60% chance in getting one that was horribly tuned: scratchy, hard-starting, railroading nibs that wouldn't write correctly. There's a reason why Visconti HS pens were considered for the longest time to be "beautiful trash" on various main fountain pen forums. So many people would get them in (after spending what these cost) and be terribly disappointed. Then the people who'd gotten a good one would come in and try to downplay their experiences. All of that stopped when Visconti admitted to the issue and switched to gold nibs. Now it's just the folks who may purchase one second-hand online that have to watch out.
Handy tip for those following along: if you purchase one of these, ask the retailer to test it for you before sending it.
The Lamy 2000 is a tremendous design, made all the more special due to (as you mentioned) its history and pedigree. Plus, it's definitely one of the cheaper ways to get your hands on a gold nib writing experience, that's for sure.
That's a badass journal rig, Blues, what is it?
Holy Cow, that Galen Leather website took me down a bit of a rabbit hole.
I was completely unaware of how many leather goods I needed.
The Aflac Duck do you have more of their stuff?
I do not, however, everything I’ve heard about them is 5 stars. My journal is definitely top notch. I do plan to get a few more things from them over time. The story of their company is pretty touching, if you care to read about it under their “Our Story” section.

Wow, what a tragic thing... she passed away July 4 last year.
I made an order. Hope they are doing okay.
