EDC knife while wearing a suit?

I'm looking for a new EDC knife that I can carry daily while wearing a suit. I'm thinking something fairly small and a little bit dressy or at least not tactical looking. I don't care if it has a pocket clip or not as I'll probably carry it in a small leather sheath in my pocket. I don't mind spending up to $200 on it. Ideas? Thanks in advance.

Although I don't wear a suit, I think the Benchmade Shoki would go pretty well with one. It's a fairly elegant, non-threatening design and comes in either a wine wood or carbon fiber-handled version.

lol i would not recommend a manix 2 and pouch... thats just ridiculous for a suit unless your slacks have cargo pockets :p

spyderco caly 3 zdp/carbon fiber would be my pick

Take a look at Al Mar's knives. The Ultralight series is very light and thin, and won't rip up your pockets. It also has that classic, more traditional design, despite having a thumbstud, clip, and lock. They have higher-end clipless knives, too, or you could just look at some traditionals (GEC, Queen, Case, etc).

true if he wants to carry it in a pants pocket... I was thinking he could carry it in a jacket pocket...but oh well im no expert

Small to medium slipjoint with nice stag or wood scales. My dad has one made in Solingen and he wears a suit everyday. Looks right at home with a suit.

Take a serious look at the Benchmade 707 Sequel. It's the knife I carry when wearing a suit Monday through Friday

Kershaw nakamura.
120~$
Mokume damascus bolsters
quince wood handle
no blade play
San mai blade (vg10 clad with 420js)

Always check out MCUSTA knives when looking into the more gentlemanly side of cutlery.

I'm with Shotgun. You can get a very classy slipjoint that won't be threatening, and will be able to handle any EDC task you throw at it while in a suit :) Or if you prefer having something with a lock I'd recommend taking a look at the GEC #72. I'm in a suit or shirt and tie every day for work and this one is in my pocket today.

+1 for a traditional slipjoint.
Some handle materials (like ivory, or dark wood) are really elegant and dressy.

I would look at any of the AG Russel Lockback knives (I like the 3in Carbon Fiber Lockback) if I were you.

I am in a similar situation (I'm in an office environment every day, and usually wear business casual), and ended up with a Boker Exskelimoor II and I've been really happy with it. Its got a discreetly colored clip (titanium blue), nice natural wooden handles, and it doesn't flip open like some of the one hand opening knives. In my opinion thats a good thing, and I've had good reactions to it so far at work.

Not my photo, but here is what I'm talking about.

Good luck with whatever you do :).

I always carry my Caly 3 CF when I dress nicer. It is light, slim and looks fantastic.
