Edc Knives

Who makes this knife and what is it called?

I second the above question.

To the OP,
Get anyone one of quint essential Spydies (Delica4 FFG, Dragonfly2, Manix LW)
A RAT 1 or 2 although much less is worth every penny and will leave you extra money for your next one! Plus they just take a beating.
Or spend a little more and hope up to Spyderco Para 2 or Benchmade Grip.

I EDC my Sebenza 21 or 940-1 and a SAK cadet as back up. Oh and at work I ALWAYS have a Mora Companion on me. Going to put some other fixed blades into rotation as now I live in much more rural area so its easier to carry.

In my opinion the spyderco manix 2 xl in s110v is the best value in folding knives available. I would like to encourage you to try one. If you are not happy they sell quick here on bladeforum so you will be able to get 90% of your money back in a hurry.

Light, thin, badass steel. Check check and check.

I like this one a lot , Manix 2 XL.
The XL is around $100, but the regular size Manix is about $90.

It's nice and slim , lots of blade. The XL might be a tad large for EDC, but the regular is probably much better.

Also throw the Manix 2LW into the mix, it's about $75 and weighs around 3oz with the same size blade as the Manix 2. The steel isn't a premium (BD1) but so far mine has taken and held a 30 degree edge phenomenally through 3 weeks of EDC use.

Great guy and will work with you in any way possible to make you the knife you want, how you want it.

OP: if it is possible, I would carry a small fixed blade such as this, or a small Becker, like an 11. If you Need a folder, the Blur or Used Manix 2 from the exchange.

All of the knives posted here are great options in that price range (Delica, Endura, Manix, Mini Griptillian, etc)

I want to suggest a few more in that $50-$80 range:
CRKT M16 (phenomenal knife in it's own right)
Tops CSAR (beefy for EDC... but manageable and strong!)
Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 (personally, I don't like lockbacks, but they're good knives)
Used Benchmade HK 14715 (great knife that can be had under $80 if you look)

answering the first question, what do I carry for edc?...an alox SAK of some sort and lately a CQC-13. I carried a SAK/fixed blade for years, but after I picked up a small edc bag the Izula II found a new home and its still always available if a stout fb is needed.

as for what would I buy on an $80 budget for edc....a Victorinox of your choice and probably an Ontario Rat I. theres very few things needing cut a fella would encounter during a day that those two wouldn't be able to handle.

My work edc is a Benchmade 556. I've been using it 5 days a week for 1 year now, works well for me.

I sometimes tend to carry 2 pocket knives , but I almost always have a mini griptillian dropped in my pocket for a beater. Tougher than they look and feel and the axis lock is great for easy one handed open and close when you got your hands full.

There are a lot of options under $80. What kind of specs, features, etc. do you like?

Kershaw has a lot of offerings under $80. The Leek, Blur, and Skyline are some personal favorites. They have a number of imported collaboration pieces that are pretty awesome as well.

Spyderco's Delica and Endura are really awesome EDC knives as well. You can even get a Delica in ZDP-189 for almost exactly $80. The Dragonfly is a bit smaller, but also a nice EDC knife.

You can still pick up a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian for under $80 on the secondary market.

Most of Victorinox's offerings are under $80. Just find one with the size, tool set, and handle material (plastic or aluminum) you like.

It's been a long time since I carried anything in that price range, but there are a TON of options for you. Use, preference of steel, opening method, weight, and of course price all play in.

I'd say a great place to start has already been suggested though: a Victorianox and a RAT or other good budget folder combined handle about anything, honestly.
If you want just a folding knife, then Cold Steel has some great offerings, but I would wait to see what their new versions with CTS-XHP steel will cost when they come out. Very big upgrade to AUS-8a, and a steel that is easy to work with still. If they fall in your budget and you like the Triad lock, go for one! Code4 is my recomendation from them (still have mine even among my $400-$1000 knives for a reason :D )!

Here's my EDC rotation at the moment. The third from the left is the Axis Mini Stryker Drop Point, for about $140 it is a workhorse of a small EDC like most black class BM are. I think it's less expensive to spend a little more up front and buy a knife that will last a lifetime.

I'm just wondering what everyone use for their EDC knife? Also if you had any recommendation on an EDC knife for around 80 USD or under.

I like knives like the Paramilitary 2, Manix 2 and Benchmade Barrage.

For under $80 I think the best knives are the Kershaw Blur, Spyderco Tenacious and Spyderco Delica.

$80 is a difficult price point. There are some good knives that are significantly less, such as the Tenacious, but the next step up is to over $100. If you can move your price point up to slightly over $100 then you can consider some very good knives such as the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and Manix 2.

Bare minimum for me is a medium to large folder (here a ZT 0770) and a SAK Cadet:

If there's more work anticipated, I add a full-sized multitool and a small fixed blade:

I don't know about the OP, but I see a Spyderco Rubicon as my next knife !
Thanks for the picture , I've seen it before in pics, but could never see the brand.
