Edc Leatherman

What did you hate about your swiss army? granted, for the purposes of this discussion both styles of victorinox multi are heavier and more expensive than what you are looking for, but fantastic tools.

Not the OP, but I do own a couple of SwissTools and am one that doesn't really like them. Very high quality and probably stronger than others, but they're just not designed for me I guess. Gloves or grease or cold fingers and soft nails and the tools get real hard to get out. Handles are slick and everything requires two hands and knowing which side you're digging at to get to. I can pull a Wave/Charge out of my pocket and my thumb is right at the main blade hole. Can flick most of the tools out with little effort or open the pliers with a wrist flick without putting down whatever's in my other hand.

Haven't had a Spirit, which I hear is a bit better on getting at tools, but even with higher quality the SwissTools just seem like a step backwards to me. Love SAKs though, so go figure.

I like it. Just not For my needs. Pliers are necessary. Plus the tools kept popping back.

Yes, I had much the same experience and impressions of Swisstools (including Spirit) v. Leatherman, resulting in an EDC Charge TTi, plus a Super Tool 300 and Rebar as backup these 7 years and counting. However, I prefer SAKs for civilized occasions, like social events, picnics, or just out and around. This is partly because a SAK is less likely to invite anxiety when seen in public, but mostly because they are so perfect and I love them :adoration: .

Ya sak's have their place. I just never need them though. I guess if I got another one it would be something on a keychain, I'd still rather have a micra or something though.

Kiah, makes perfectly good sense. Whats a feature to one guy, is a bug to another. I don't carry my swisstool that much because its just so heavy, but that's because its got so much hidden away in it. That's why we have so many options.

I'd say go for the rebar. The replaceable cutters are a huge plus. Plus it's size is easy to carry. Lots of tools in a smallish package. Good price too. If you must have one hand opening tools or scissors check out the wave or charge.
