EDC methods for the izula

This should hopefully be vaguely on topic...

What are some good alternatives to using paracord or a ball chain for neck carry? Would the slightly thicker kind of cord they sell for necklaces in some jewelry stores work, or is that not going to support drawing the knife? Ball chain and paracord both irritate my skin :(

Until I get around to trying this out, I'll stick to wearing it on my belt...

I carry mine paracorded on my right side as if it were to be cross drawn (handle facing front). I am however right handed, I just draw the knife in a reverse grip, I find it quicker than cross drawing since my hands are usually resting in or on my pocket.

The Izula is the only knife I own that I am comfortable carrying horizontally, and it fits perfectly just to the right of my belt buckle, where I can grab it in a standard grip with my right hand or reverse with my left.

Short of that it stays clipped to my backpack strap, handle down.

I don't see why anything you can think of wouldn't work as long as you can run it through the sheath. The key would be to unsheath the knife by using your thumb if you're worried about breaking the clasp. I'd also try to find something with a sturdy clasp. I'm still waiting to see someone neck carry with a gold chain.:D

neck carry attached with paracord and a fisherman's knot for adjusting length.
Didn't do that much though, edc-ing a neck knife.
will go out for a survival course this weekend and am going to take it with me ;)

We like our round bottom sheaths for belt or neck carry. When we don't want people to realize we have a knife with us.

SwimmingBird ~ have you considered using a strip of leather or deer skin for neck carry? I find it is much more comfortable. (although being a girl I do often use satin cording also)

It looks like a piece of kydex. You can mold it by hand with some gloves on. Just heat it in the oven at 275-295F degrees for 4-5 minutes. You could also use a heat gun and some hair dryers will get hot enough.

mine made it to work with me in a front pocket today on accident.
I was here 2 hours before I noticed it was there.
