I was just outting together a pocket "keychain" kit thought I'd show some pics
I've pretty much made it as big as I can, but will be feng shueing it a bit as I go
Here it is with some of my usual pocket fair

It's big but rides well in my jeans and cargo pockets and is great for a jacket pocket also fits in the palm

I've been thinking of adding this sharpener but that might be pushing it

COntents are pretty self explanatory
Fox 40 whistle
bsa hotspark
vic classic
asst safety pins
brunto mini baseplate compass
1 spycapsule of pj cotton and charcloth
another with basic medication and some adhesive sutures

your much better prepared than i am! i have a ferro rod, fatwood, knife, light, bandana and a compas on my watch. i should probably add a whistle, some First aid stuff, sharpener, some chordage and i should probably upgrade my light. your stuff looks pretty well rounded but its compact enough to where you dont feel like you are carrying too much

looks like a very complete, trim setup...but still too much for me :o

i used to carry alot of EDC gear...but i kept track of things i commonly used (and could reasonably expect to use) and ended up dropping alot of stuff from my daily rotation.

right now (as of this moment) my EDC is:
Case large stockman ( ... ;) )
Bic lighter
wallet

especially once summer starts and i am much more commonly in light weight cotton pants or shorts, my EDC gear lightens up. actually, yesterday i experimented with dropping the stockman and carrying a fixed blade only...it worked well and was actually a little lighter weight.

but i often have a purse with me too...
which contains things like a small headlamp, roll of athletic tape, at least a few feet of cord, and water.

but anyways, looks like you have a pretty comprehensive, but still lightweight/trim setup there that provides for just about every eventuality...:thumbup:

Looks like a good little kit, very similiar to what I have on my keychain. The only thing I would worry about is one of those safety pins opening up and sticking you. I had it happen to me, so I switched them to wallet carry.

I don't think I'd want to carry that in my pocket when I've got a (now) very well designed EDC Altoids kit which fits in a shirt pocket, pants pocket, or jacket pocket. I also carry a mini-Grip clipped on my pants pocket.

I have everything you have and more without an uncomfortable lump of gear in my pocket.

It's not uncomfortable at all to me,,where I find an Altoid tin is...the inflexibility of it makes it hard for me to tote in a pocket specially when getting in and out of an ambulance all day... this stays flat in the pocket and is free to move as I do, and there are certain things that I choose not to carry... Glad you seem happy with your kit though

Well, sense I callr my lunada EDC, I can imagine most would think im insane, but like you I have a nice load of EDC stuff.
This is in the pockets and what not.

Ok...with all those split rings, how do you actuially use the stuff?

RR, might I suggest you check these out?

I've replaced all of my keychains with these guys. It's easy to slip items on and off whenever you want, and I do believe it'd be easier to use these rather than split rings if your fine and complex motor skills are impaired somehow. They also have tons of uses aside from carrying keys :)

Looks like a good lil kit though

My keychain is almost exactly like that. I have a stainless peanut lighter until I can make a handle for or drill a ferro rod. I put a few safety pins into one of the spy capsules after getting stuck. Used to have the smallest Gerber paraframe folder on there, but removed it since I EDC a spyderco endura, and I needed to get the bulk down so I would actually carry the thing every day. My non-tinder capsule with the safety pins also has a couple of REI stormproof matches + striker and a chlorine dioxide tablet.

I still need to make a paracord bracelet or anklet, and flat-pack some duct tape and a fish bag to carry in the non-wallet back pocket.

My keychain items are oriented more towards the handy end of the spectrum rather than the emergency end:

Garrity LED light
Collapsible pen
Utili-key

Any more than this becomes too bulky for the dress pants I normally wear during the work week. Other handy stuff is stashed in the pockets of my jackets and in my work bag, but my fancy pants won't comfortably contain more stuff.

Sorry Photo bucket is freezing my acct until the 20th so I'll upgrade.... Obviously they've never realized how stubborn a man I am Ha ha ha.. like 3 days is gonna bother me I did 3000 posts without a single pic..... but seriously I'll up grade sorry

Riley, Nice EDC.

I have similar and I added to a CPR pouch nitrile gloves, vacuum sealed N95 mask and decontamination wipes.
I just dont trust the world we live in.
