With the new EDC 1.2 2024 being released, might as well have a thread to show off the EDC’s. POST EM UP!

They’ll be rolling in hopefully daily for everyone for a while.

Can’t wait to see some of the beauties from the Pre-order, especially those sexy Swedged and satin finishes

What an awesome little EDC knife that screams perfection (as all CPK’s do)! Thank you Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist , Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist , and the whole CPK crew involved for another awesome release, and what very well may be the most popular CPK model 😍 (my prediction), provided the numbers will be there.

Got my EDC 1.2 in today in Buffed Crusty VIP (Vintage International Paper)

Nice! I got the exact same spec'd one coming. Looks so good! The crusty VIP is such a good fit. Excited to get my first EDC.

Outside of the swedge on the 3, what's the difference between the generations? I never really followed this model. They all look about the same without scrutinizing them.

Appreciate the thread. I’ll have to plan better for the next sale. Kinda like the belly on the EDC 3 a little more. Look forward to hearing how using the 1.2 may differ from the previous models.

I’ve added some pics with measurements and weights in my first post.

A local shop didn't just miss shape the edge, they actually burned it. It was easily measured here on one of our edge stability tests. It was massively not good.

I set the edge back a good little ways which required regrinding the primaries to get the thickness back in spec

I'm guessing those folks at that shop mostly do people's kitchen knives

And I imagine most people's kitchen knives are probably junk

But it was shockingly incompetent and in my opinion they have no business working on people's knives if they're not any better than that. Pathetic.

It is a satin ground edc2. Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist fixed it up when a local shop messed up the edge. The man is a wizard.
It turned out great though in the end! I couldn’t place the shape lol (especially with the lack of sharpening choil and belly), figured had to be an EDC 1…. NOT a 2.1 🤣. Glad Nathan was able to work his evil magic on it, what a relief 😅

It looks so good that I’d consider taking the hit and sending my EDC 2 to that shop to screw my knife up, so I could get a nice re-profile and satin finish on it too 🤣.

I don't advise doing that.

Maybe they get the knives good and sharp and they cut well for a little while but go dull quickly. They might actually have a perverse incentive to burn edges. Then people bring them back again
I like a few of the guys there, but yea... I probably won't be having them fix anything anytime soon. I was unaware they were going to belt sharpen. I'm still not babying this edc lol, that's not what its for.

For some of those that are wandering. I will not name the shop, but I will say that they have a very similar name to Cold Stone Creamery.

You know... my wife just reminded me... We actually heard a guy there talking about how he just had a blade sharpened by them that had gone dull again. It was some expensive chef thing, and one of the guys there said it was because he was using bamboo cutting boards. You might not be far off. ... anywho. The EDC is great, that's what this threads about.
