EDC Pic thread. Post em up!

I have always used a knife to pull the backstraps off (and the edge loss from the bone contact is one of the things that got me started down the path as a knife maker) but I recently heard that you can peel it out with your bare hands.

I've never tried that

I use my #badidea FK2 for this, specifically because of the bone contact. No need to fear it. 😎

You can use your fingers to help separate the meat from the inside bottom edge valleys between the bones, but I’ve never been terribly successful using just my fingers. The meat begins tearing if not careful, and it’s slow. So I use a combination of a knife and my fingers, does a pretty good job and fairly quick.

Scales are unbuffed black linen, my personal favorite. The grey taco kydex is Mashed Cat, but not a 'factory' option.
Love the scales. I know a lot of members here love the wood scales or other non black scale options but I love the black scale options. Matches with my firearms nicely lol. I do love all the other scale options members opt to put on their CPKs just can’t do it myself but still enjoy the pictures posted of them

I got a special surprise in the mail yesterday.

Someone very thoughtfully gifted me a D2 knife and sheath from two of my favorite makers. Me and Lorien.

I know this was intended as a pure gift and not in trade for anything but I've got this ugly old knife of mine that needs more use than I'm giving it.

Please consider it a thank you gift.

Thank you Phil.

Thank you Nathan & Jo for sending this generous gift my way. It is a very special variation of the already scarce DEK3. The acid washed flats really highlight the crispness and symmetry of Mark's amazing grinding mastery.

You stated that it has not been getting enough use. I started to remedy that with Thanksgiving dinner prep last night. It is a great slicer that will serve me well.

I hope the D2 EDC serves you equally well when called into duty.

Best regards,

Phil
