EDC pocket organizer?

I'm a fan of Remora Holsters for IWB carry for many reasons, but if you've ever ordered one, they throw in a free accessory pouch that's mostly meant to be a spare mag pouch. If you don't know about Remora, basically their holsters are tacky on the outside and allow IWB carry with no clip and work remarkably.

The spare mag pouch is somewhat large, and I've tried putting knives in there to see how they do in pocket. It actually works pretty decent if you like to carry knives in your back pocket and don't want it to move around but allows the pouch to stay in your pocket when you draw the knife. But like I said, the pouch is large and does not work in the front pocket of any of my pants.

I was wondering if there's someone out there who makes a slimmer pocket sheath for knives primarily or EDC lights with the sheath being made of the tacky material so it stays in pocket. I'm thinking something in the large to small CRK pouch size. This way my clipless knives could stay upright in pocket and separate from my light or keys.

I'll amend this thread to ask if you use a pocket sheath, what's your favorite? I have a small CRK slip, but haven't tried any other knives in it. If you have a small or large, do you carry other knives in them? The only drawback to the small slip is it always falls sideways in pocket.

I also have a small William Henry slip with the clip on the outside and a small Sebenza can't even fit in it. I've actually never used it since I don't carry my lone WH.

With some quick googling I came upon this which might be more what I'm looking for.

What would be ideal for me is a 2 compartment organizer to hold a Maratac AAA light which will be my new EDC light and the knife compartment to accommodate up to a large Sebenza in width or so. Maybe a third compartment to accommodate my Leatherman Juice.

Edit: after more searching I've came across Bill's Custom Cases Urban Wallet. It looks about exactly what I'm looking for. Anyone have any experience with them?

Also the Bladeart Mission Wallet looks like something to consider and slimmer than Bill's.

There used to be multiple vendors who carried Bill's Urban Wallets; I got mine from one of them. He was such a pain to deal with every last one of them cut him loose; a friend tried calling him to order and he gave my friend a bunch of grief, too. His wallets last maybe 2-3 years before the zippers start jamming and ripping out (I'm on my third and last). The Mission wallet is a much better deal, although there's one zippered pocket.

I have no experience with them myself, but Knives Ship Free also has a pocket sheath that is usually meant for a small fixed blade and a folder, or a folder and a light, possibly with a small card/bill slot. You could always buy a Remora, cut it up, then glue the material to the existing sheath. Uncle Mike's also makes synthetic pocket holsters with a strip of grippy material (get size 3 or 4, then sew it into two compartments), or you could try Mika's Pocket Sheaths (not a typo; Google it). Hopefully that will get you started and not confuse you too much.

Thank you for the suggestions. I emailed Bill today to inquire about his wallets, and he responded that his workload was so heavy this month I'd have to give him my address and number to get on his waiting list. I've read some stuff on other forums today about issues folks have had dealing with him. I don't like the whole giving out credit card info over the phone. It literally takes no effort these days to get set up for PayPal and I mostly only deal with dealers that accept it.

I'll have to check out the KnivesShipFree sheath and Mika's. My wife has some basic sewing skills and we briefly discussed trying to make a custom one which she doesn't mind doing and seemed eager to do. Could be fun.

Checks out Chums Marsupial or Surfshort wallet, I own the Marsupial and though things slides out of the side pocket a lot of time when I take out my wallet I have them attached to the keyring via lobster claw clasp so all I have to do is hold that area of the wallet and no issue and very little chance of losing said items. Not that big of a deal in practice. I have a pen, knife, and flashlight there and it takes up very little space and all my cards and money in the main pocket in that slim wallet.

Are you using one of these and if so how do you like it?.

No, I don't use one. I thought you were looking for recommendations of similar products. The skinth product was the only one I could think of that fits your description. I strictly pocket carry knives now. I got tired of pocket clips ruining pockets and my multitool (if I carry one) and cell phone are usually on my belt. My Fenix e15 is not much bigger then the CR123A battery and that goes into my pocket too.

Oh ok. I appreciate your recommendation though as it looks closest so far to what I'm looking for. I might try my hand at a custom version. I don't mind pocket carry of my knives, but hate when they get sideways. For example, I've been carrying my small Seb in the pocket slip everyday, and somehow today it turned completely upside-down by itself.

Pocket clips have already ruined several of my pants, and they don't look appropriate sometimes. I wear jeans less right now as I'm down to only one good pair, but my new Maratac fits nicely in the watch pocket. I did find myself constantly patting my pocket to make sure it was still in there today.

I've bought two Urban Wallets from Bill, but he is a major PITA to work with I'll not go back. Both are still in service after almost five years, so the product is good. Too bad really.

would something like a section of a shot shell belt with elastic loops work?

Never thought of that but great idea there.

The leader right now for a non-custom option is probably the Skinth P3MT though the 30 day lead time sucks. I've gotten some good ideas on other forums and will probably try making a custom version first. If it works out, I'll be sure to post pics.

I've had the KSF Adirondack Sheath for many years now. It can fit a variety of knives and tools/lights:

I also got this wallet recently called the Park Sloper. It keeps a mini notebook and small Fisher pen. It was an expensive indulgence, but will last a lifetime.

I'd looked at everything from the Urban Wallet to the Skinth. Not wanting to wait a month to get a Skinth and not even sure if it'll fit my needs, I took a trip to the fabric store. The original plan was that the wife was gonna help me out with this if I just gave the specs as she supposedly knows how to sew, but her fast disinterest in this project led me to take matters in my own hands.

My previous only experience sewing was in elementary school learning to sew with a needle and thread but remember nothing about it. I grabbed the instruction manual and in a half hour or so had the machine running. My criteria was that it had to fit my widest folders which are a Spyderco Military and Hinderer 3.5" XM-18 flipper. Also had to fit a 1xAA light and later decided I wanted my Leatherman Juice in there. Even fits an Adamas.

Not the prettiest thing but gets the job done. I'm going to attempt one a shade wider to hold my Zebralight SC52w. Nice and flat in the pocket and best of all everything stays upright and I can ditch the pocket clips on my knives.

This is my 4th attempt or so. 1st 3 pocket version.

I made this pocket organizer for my front left pocket:

With contents removed:

I designed it to fit the size and shape of the smallest left front pocket of all of my pants, and I carry it every day. The 2 pens, Preon 1, chapstick, and money clip can each be removed and replaced without taking the organizer out of my pocket. The elastic pockets at the bottom hold the spare batteries and mini-Bic. The backing is made of velcro, two parts stuck together, so I can peel them apart, and they hold spare keys and cash sandwiched between. The pockets are all made of thin leather, except for the two elastic pockets at the bottom. (I had someone with a sewing machine help me with the sewing)

I made this pocket organizer for my back left pocket:

With items removed:

(LM Fuse has been replaced by Rebar)

And back view:

I used somewhat stiff 5.5 oz black bullhide for the backing, and floppy 2 oz brown cowhide for the front. It is sized for my smallest back left pocket, so it will fit in all my pants. It keeps the items upright and in the same place every time. I can remove and replace each item without taking the organizer out of my pocket. One thing I should have done differently would be to sew a thin layer of leather along the back to make a flat pocket to hold items like cash, single keys, cards, or mini-pry tools. Since leather is flexible, I can replace any of the three items with anything of similar size.
That can't be comfortable to sit on! The way my body is shaped, and the way my pants fit me, it rides behind me when I sit, not below my butt. YMMV.

I carry both of these organizers every single day, be it in jeans, cargos, or slacks, and their loadout just about never changes.
I'm not selling these, but please take inspiration from the ideas and make your own to perfectly fit whatever you carry.
Measure the size and shape of the pocket you want it to fit, make it a little bit smaller, arrange the items how you want them, and then just sew around or between them. Since the leather pieces you need for this type of project are very small, you can buy leather scraps, or dismantle leather jackets or bags from your local thrift store. No need to buy sides of leather like I do.

Here's my 2nd attempt of a 3 slot organizer. I tried to take a little more attention to detail and use a straight edge to cut and made it just a hair wider overall. It'll now take my L11C all the way in which is exactly what I want. Can't get the Zebralight into the same slot but can get it into the Leatherman slot and put the Leatherman in the flashlight slot. Weird, but it works lol. Not perfect by any means but definitely my best one quality-wise so far.

Shown with a Spyderco Military, Hinderer 3.5" XM-18, and Benchmade Adamas which are my widest folders.

With the design being "flexible" if I'm wearing something like gym shorts that doesn't have rigid pockets, I can roll up the organizer and shove it in my pocket if I'm in a hurry or maybe a bag.

The Carhartts I wear have this little cell phone pocket on the side, and in the rolled up form it fits nicely in there also.

Edit: I've gotta say this cell phone pocket carry in the Carhartts is really winning me over. Super easy to extract everything by their lanyards and the pockets keep their shape which makes for easily putting the tools back in. Even prints less than in the front pocket. Surprisingly feels less bulky. Shown with small Sebenza.

I'm going to have to look into the Carhartt pants with the little cell phone pocket. Looks like a winner to me.

I found that the single best thing you can do to keep your pockets organized is get rid of the loose change. But what do you do with it? Pouch? More pocket stuff.... Pocket storage is a problem for me as I am usually carrying two sets of keys, knife etc. The electronic car door keys take up a lot of space.

I've worn these type pants almost everyday this week and have carried my knife, light, and Juice this way and have loved it. You don't even see the lanyards and can't hardly tell anything is in the pocket. It's actually nice having a front pocket not full of stuff and free for other things if I need it.

I already gave away one I made to a friend and he says he's really enjoying it so far. Mine has held up great for the past week and think it'll be fine long term.

I put it in a jar when I get home and don't worry about it. I keep a handful of quarters in the car in case I need to feed a parking meter, payphone, or gas station air/tire fill up. The only carrying of change I do when out is carrying it home when I get some.
