Whats the Northwoods one the right Brett? Is that made by Queen or GEC?

That's a GEC-made Scagel Fruitport Wharnie... fantastic knife!

Man I like that! I'd like to see one without the blade cutout, any idea what pattern that is based on? Can't be the 55 right?

Christian, you have good taste :) ;)...

If you excuse the quick-and-crappy cell phone pic, here's my usual suspects.

I'm not certain of the exact GEC pattern, but they did release a similar Slim Dog Leg #48 which is just slightly larger at 3 7/8" closed (the Fruitport is 3 3/4" closed.) Here's a comparison photo next to a #55...

Well, I'm the kind of guy that eats at one restaurant, sits in the same place every time, that kind of thing. When I find something I like, I stick with it. I'm that way with knives. I've whittled (pun intended) down my collection to knives that mean something to me, knives that were gifts, boyhood knives, Peanut's knife, etc. In fact, I'm going to give away a couple that are the last two I have that aren't special. Nice knives, but not special. I don't collect razors, knives, or watches anymore. If I'm gifted them that's one thing, but no more buying for the sake of having more.

I was recently gifted a TC barlow in red sawcut bone in pen/clip combo. I had been carrying my latest slipjoint, but it developed some lateral movement on the pivot pin itself, so I shelved it and won't carry it again, likely ever. I have been carrying the TC every waking moment since, and I think this might be the one.

I didn't like clip blades, half stops, and was lukewarm on Barlows, but this knife is THE KNIFE. It is my knife, I knew it the moment I opened the tube. This is a knife I will pass down to my son. I have to make sure it's ok with the gifter and I will post a thank you thread. It has a bit of patina from the previous owner and I like that. Even now I'm holding it, line a worry stone.

Anyway, long way of saying, no rotation, just the knife.

I have finally settled on the perfect pocket knife(for me) after searching & trying different patterns & sizes for a while now & I am lovin' the 2 blade Jacks from Schrade USA,Uncle Henry & their Craftsman cousins.
I mostly carry a Schrade USA 33OT,but will occasionally throw the Schrade+ Uncle Henry 833UH or Craftsman 9541 in my pocket so they don't feel neglected.
If I'm in a Stockman mood the Craftsman Old Crafty 9546 or the stainless Craftsman 9553 get a ride.

I like these group shots. Always fun to see what others are carrying and get a comparison of knives side by side.
Here is a shot of my Wooden handle EDC pool.

Keep getting mighty tempted by the Indian River jack^^

Thoughts...

Sam

Thanks, the Indian River Jack is actually one of my favorites. The fit and finish on mine is very good, the pull is about 5-6. I mainly bought it for the ATS-34 blade steel, wanted a traditional knife with a quality stainless steel. From what I have read the ATS-34 is very similar to 154cm. I also like the convex grind that was done by Bark River on these. The entire blade is convex ground not just the edge.

Hoping to add a barehead spear point 15 to my carry options. Hopefully the other party likes the trade from my end.

These are not all, because I am likely to carry any knife I own on a whim, but these are the usual suspects!
(Not including the amber stag bone Queen #06L, the #15 boy's knife and the Schrade Walden 890 that I've got on me right now.)

I am reducing my collection for 2 years now, only to knives I am carrying and that are special to me one way or another. It won't go smaller. As a matter of fact I am waiting to GEC Talon and a GAW knife I won recently. And there is special project cooking, but that's all.

I believe you will be very pleased with the Talon Mike, it's a useful and very pleasant carry.

Regards, Will

SAK, opinel and my Grandfathers lockback. Other than that the rest aren't traditional so they never get carried.

This is pretty much my current EDC pool, i usually just have either a #09 or #22 in my watch pocket and if i need a bigger blade the #68 or the #92 in my left front pocket with my kerchief to protect from coin strike, since i have been using the #22 i find the bigger main blade than the #09 takes care of most of my day to day tasks. Although in the spirit of full disclosure i admit to sometimes carrying one of my French knives or a Spyderco..

This is an updated pic of my edc carry pool. It's much reduced now due a couple of downsizings over the years of my stuff in general, knives included. Going into my red dwarf stage of life with less stuff makes things simpler. These knives are the ones, for one reason or another I just can't bring myself to part with or leave alone. They get carried and used often. The stockman is my favorite, but the resolza and zuava get carried and used in rotation. The fact that these were gifted to me by the online family here means a lot. Of course, while these stockman, resolza, and zuava take turns, the tiny classic is a constant whenever my keyring in my pocket.
