EDC Recomondation after a broken CS Recon 1

Since no one has mentioned it. Remove the clip and lightly sand the G-10 where the clip contacts to mitigate the pocket damage. The nylon handle on the Rat 1 won't have this problem. Good luck and enjoy your new tools.

That's a good deal on a 275! I love mine but since I only have one 275 I haven't used it very much. :/

+1 for ZT0350
You can de assist it, I like it even more without the torsion barre

Don't sand G10 without propper protection. As much as I hate to admit it, Nutnfancy had a solid idea with JB Weld.

Two that have already been reco'd and I agree big-time...
BenchMade Adamas manual (4" D2 blade), strongest knife I know of in your price range. I've had two. Wonderful.
Kershaw JunkYardDob v.2.2 about eighty bucks. I've had three; gave away two; use mine for rough outdoor work.

Yup i broke it, it is on the way to CS for warranty work, which they may or may not honner i am judging by the tone of the email i got back from them

so i need a new EDC blade so i can stop carrying this stupid paraframe II.

-Im hoping under 100$
-Cannot be automatic, but can be "Spring assisted"...i live in Upstate Ny
-Needs to be tough(i work with my hands for a living, and i am a VF/EMT and my knives see alot of use)
-I am hoping around 3.5-4" for the blade
-GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, ie: like LL bean or Vortex optics...you break it we fix/replace no questions asked
-Pocket clip
-Friendly to Lefties
-i will be getting 2, one for carry and one for my Fire Gear, i like to use the same knife(i don't want any of that seatbelt cutter/glass breaker crap on it)

so what are your guys thoughts?

cheers!

I am also a firefighter and I like to keep a spyderco rescue in my gear. It has a rounded tip do you won't cut the victim if your cutting a seatbelt or something. And I would get a Kershaw blur. Great knife and the recurve blade and huge belly is a great utility shape

I'm hoping to one day find an extra JYDII knife, so I can feel a bit better about carrying the one I have.

Byrd Cara Cara 2 with frn scales. Just over 3 oz w/milled steel liners, cheap, and tough!
Also, lefty friendly like most Spydie/Byrd offerings.

Well guys I have some good news...and then great knews

I got the HK 14715 as recommended above and a Rat1, because well...im a nerd i guess lol

i have been barrying the 14715 for about 4 days now and i LOVE IT. It is absolutely perfect.

I got a box in the mail today from CS...with a new Recon 1 in it. Thanks CS!

and thaks guys for great recommendations.

I would try a BM Grip, I got my old 551SBKSN, she's been used and abused, tough as nails, I loaned it to my ex and found out she was cutting wire with it...I repossessed my knife, sans a few small chips, I got the blade back to a mirror edge.

But after my recent experience with BM's customer service department, I think I'm done with BM.
You can also try a Kershaw Manifold (inexpensive $20, durable, the only bad thing is the steel choice they used, but I've beat mine up alot and she still trucks on.)
