Do you rotate your EDC knife?
How often do you rotate you EDC knife?
I mostly EDC my Delica but often change for various reasons.
Dress up = Stainless Dragon Fly or Small Classic Sebenza
Yard work= Pacific Salt serrated
Hunting= Serrated Endura
Out at night= Leek G10 / S30V
Shooting= Either the Delica or the Sebbie
Travel= Delica
How about you?

I try to keep my EDC around 3 inches (blade) to avoid trouble so if it's not my D4 wave, then it's a BM 551. On occasion I'll take a E4 wave, but that is very sheeple unfriendly in my area.

I rotate multitool about every five years. Gentlemans folder about the same, biggie bushcraft knife, I will keep the F1 I have until it dies or I find something better :)

depends. If my current favorite EDC is down for one reaosn or another I'll rotate daily. For example my BM 5000 is off at BM to fix the axis. I rotate a halo, socom and a m16-14T daily. Usually the CRKT for hard use because I couldn't careless if I lose it or break it.

My EDC rotation has no rational time frame anymore. It's basically a 'whenever I feel like it' kind of thing. I used to try to keep a kind of a schedule, but, the silliness of it became too much to ignore. So, now, I rotate according to urge and maybe to a lesser extent, what I will be doing on a given day.

Mine is a whenever I feel like it or when I get a new knife. Lately I have been going back and forth between my DM knives Spektor and a lovely Todd Davidson Mammoth clip point folder. Steven

It depends on the place. A Dodo for urban carry. It depends on the task. An RD-4 is an excellent knife for battoning and other camp chores. Lastly I tend to gravitate towards easy to carry knives such as a Delica for around the house. I probably carry my Dodo the most since it tends to do everything well. I also carry a few customs quite a bit since they are real efficient tools.

I do not rotate EDCs, but for different occations I have different Spydercos:
for work - R2 + Caly3
after work - or weekends Persian + Caly3
dress up - Kopa Cocobolo
travel Caly3 or SAK.

I rotate my EDC based mostly on what I feel like carrying. I try to carry the same combo for about a week or so before changing.

Right Now it is:

BM 710
CRK Mnandi

I would recommend rotating your EDC as little as possible, if at all. Muscle memory and gross motor skills are what you have to rely on when in extreme situations. You will not have time to think "Where is my blade today? Is it a fixed blade? Do I have it tip-up or tip-down? Do I push the button? Does it have a thumbhole?" You get the idea.

If you just have to rotate, at least carry the same type of knife, in the same configuration, in the same location.

I keep my gun and magazines in the same place. I also carry the same gun. I have trained a whole lot with it!! (and would like to train more.)

Hey Guys..

I rotate my knives when I get bored with them..

I agree though your SD blade should be carried in the same place all the time,, and the same basic blade...The day you switch it to a differnt place will be the day you need it,, reach for it,, and it's not there...

I'm pretty happy with my current setup...

Weekdays Benchmade 710/705/Ontario RAT3

Weekend Benchmade Ritter Grip/Ritter mini Grip/Swamp Rat Howling Rat

Special Occasions CRK Sebenza w/ micarta inserts/small Seb with micarta inserts/BRKT Highland Special or Swamp Rat Bog Dog

At home folders are used for hard tasks, I alternate between the following depending on what I'm doing. Spyderco Military/Manix/Native III/Swamp Rat Battle Rat

I have others in my collection, but the ones listed above pretty much fill all my needs. Around the home town, I sometimes carry just the Military.

I rotate to renew the bond with my blades and to give them their opportunity for carry and work, so I usually don't rotate more often than monthly. Once they come out of "hibernation", they want to stay out a while.

Since I am not using any knives in self defence it is no problem keeping it in the "wrong" pocket and my Fallkniven U2 is more like a "security blanket" thinghy. I keep my self esteem in gadgets instead of in my heart :)
It is like my first EKA folder almost twenty years ago. I bought it because the wlade was sticking out so much I could open it with my fingers instead of my nails (nailbiter :)), it also followed me everywhere. It was later replaced with a SAK, and then another SAK and then a PST and now a Fuse and a U2.

I always carry my knife in the same place; actually to be more accurate it would be the same 2 places. 99% of the time it is in my right front pocket. 1% it is IWB. I always IWB it in the same place. I don't think of my knives as self defense weapons, I think of them as tools.
