A lot of folks rotate edc daily. I seem to carry the same pocket clip or belt folder for ages before changing. Usually because of loss or purchase of a new knife.
Right now its a Gerber assisted folder with blade that I covexed. Cheap but it works.Carried for about 2 years now.
I have other folders but always seem to carry this.

Whatever strikes my fancy - usually the latest thing I bought. I switch it when it gets dull a bit.

I'm at that point where I "rediscover" knives that I forgot were in my collection. This week I put some different scales on a Vic Tinker and it's like getting a new knife. I've carried it all week even though it's been months since I even picked it up. Next week I'll "rediscover" something else. It's like Christmas every day!

I rarely rotate. I change as needs dictate but I have a pretty rigid setup.

At work Benchmade Contego and a Leatherman

Off work Benchmade Griptillian and Victorinox Farmer or Tinker

Heading out of the city limits for hiking, fishing, camping, etc... Mora and a Victorinox one hand Trekker.

I have a few knives other than these that I enjoy owning but see very little actual use.

I seem to carry one folder until I find something that I like better. Usually, my EDC "lifetime" is about two years. Although I have other nice knives sitting here, I've never been able to understand the logic of "rotation." Each to his own.

Depends on the day. All of the knives that I have held on to fill a certain roll for me which is "all around EDC knife". Any one I choose will do everything I ask it to so it comes down to how I'm feeling that day.

I have too many great knives to just carry the same one for years on end. About the only knife I always have on me, or at least with me in my bag is my CRK Insingo, and that's due to it being of special personal value to me. Other than that, I have a steady rotation of great knives.

Yesterday I rediscovered the Spyderco Police, full serrated with stainless steel scales.
You're right that it feels a lot like getting a whole new knife. :)

Just one more reason NOT to sell or trade. ;)

I guess my only absolutely true EDC is the Emerson Karambit...it's been in my left pocket for the last 6 years.
The right pocket is where the rotation happens.

It's either this:

Paired with this:

Or... both these CS Rajah 2 folders in CTS BD1:

I carry a work knife then ill switch out to my knife a carry home. I usually carry a zt0301 or my old cold steel voyager at work and then switch out to a zt0900 or mini grip after work. I bought a benchmade bedlam but everytime I touch the fuckin thing I get cut good, so that's off the rotation. I now use it as a cigar cuter (its that sharp).

I have a few that I rotate. As someone else mentioned, I usually switch once the blade on one starts to get slightly dull. I sharpen it up then store it and grab the next in line.

That said, I have respect for folks who have been carrying the same knife everyday for years.

This is what I have to choose from:

Zt 0350 is for days when I know I will be doing some hard cutting

Case sodbuster Jr is for when I'm dressed classy or I don't want a pocket clip poking out

Delica is my ordinary day edc. It really is the best compromise of light weight size and strength for me.

I also just bought a sak electrician alox, and I'm still trying to figure out where it will fit in

I rotate between a bunch of knives either based on what I think I'll be doing thay day or a theme (D2sday, M4 monday, framelock friday)

I tend to carry the same knife at work (m4 mini Ritter with Wilkins scales) and switch to some other mini grip concoction after work! I did just pick up a southern grind spider monkey and it has been in my pocket the past few days!!

As they say... Variety is the spice of life. :) I'll normally pair a modern folder with a traditional each day, depending on what I'll be doing.

I try to rotate a fair bit but I have what I call "current squeezes" and "old wives"
The Injection 3.0 is a current squeeze as is the Kershaw Field Knife or the Schrade F16.
BK14, WRKT Backpacker, Kershaw Leek, ZT 0566 and the RAT Sisters are old wives.
Squeezes spend a day or two in my pocket but old wives stay for at least a week each before start to miss the others.
