EDC rotation

Sometimes I'll accessorize an outfit; orange with an orioles jersey, etc... sometimes it's more for the task at hand; all metal for greasy work, or less expensive for facing knowingly more difficult dirty tasks where the risk of edge/scale damage.is higher... lightweights are used for mesh shorts or sweat pants days.
As to "how often", there really is no method to the madness for me, aside from the afore mentioned. 1 knife might see one day, another might see 2 weeks straight.

I use to change daily/weekly between my work and weekend carry but now I'm set in my ways and only change a bit now and then

I had quite a few in my rotation and I was carrying one per week. It was taking a long time to get all the way through the rotation so I decided to start carrying 2 or maybe 3 per week. When I started working from home during covid my process got all messed up.

I don't really have a method to my madness. I always carry a modern folder in my front right pocket next to my two phones (one for work). Grabbing my knife is the last item I put in my pocket as I'm getting dressed and just carry whatever strikes my fancy. In the passed 4 months or so my most carried folders have been a Kizer Guru, a Kershaw Avalanche, a Real Steel G3 Pukko, and a Kizer Begleiter 2. I do a lot of box opening and cardboard/tape cutting during the week so I tend to carry these knives while I'm working mostly. And then when I get home and on the weekends I like to carry some of my higher end stuff. I don't mind using and carrying the higher end knives (once I've commited), but for some reason I like to save the monotonous tasks for my week day carry knives and use my nicer knives for the weekends when I'm out in nature whittling and what not.

I rotate in and out about 25-35 knives into a staging area: my desk. From there I choose what I'll carry day to day and cycle them back into storage. Some, like my Benchmade Griptilian, Spyderco Police 4, Zero Tolerance 0640 Emerson, and Cold Steel AD-10 have never left the staging area since they joined the family. The frequency of shifting knives in and out of the staging area, to and from storage, is pretty irregular. Sometimes I'll carry the same knife for a week, sometimes for a couple of days, and sometimes I switch it up daily or several times in a day; depending on what I'm up to. These are the offerings in one drawer of the knife staging area. Another 22 knives and multi-tools are elsewhere in the desk, including 9 fixed blades, and there's even a camper axe handy within arm's reach.

Depends on what I'll be doing that day.
95% of the time I carry a RAT 1.
Rest of the time a Buck 110 or for nasty work an Ozark Trail 3" fixed blade, which btw is a GREAT knife.

I will rotate through 2 a week. One, a stronger flipper, the other a smaller non-flipper w superior pocket stealth. This week is a MKM Anso Goccia and a Benchmade Bugout. One will be in my pants, the other in my work case. Fridays, casual days at the office (jeans/khakis), I will ball out a bit since I have deeper pockets. Tomorrow will be a red Hinderer Ekclipse (tanto). Switch it up every week to keep it fun and to give myself optionality. Great thread!
