Hello all,

Been awhile since I've listed a knife here, as I've been very happily busy with custom orders and local demand. Came up with something a little different and I'm excited to share this new design with you all.

This knife started out as an artistic experiment, but as it came together I realized it was actually going to be a perfect example of form following function.

I decided to name this one "Half Life™" for a couple of reasons. It's the smallest knife I've ever produced for sale and, while it's powered by a completely harmless form of luminescence, I had to tip my hat to the radioactive reference for obvious reasons.

The design specs of the Half Life™ are as follows
:

  • Full tang, .128" thick, modified kiridashi style blade in CPM154 wearing a hand rubbed, satin 600 grit finish.
  • Hybrid combination of 2x2 twill Carbon Fiber & Orange G10 scales with a little bit of a twist. I added a phosphorescent glow-in-the-dark powder to the epoxy that fills the carbon fiber tubing I used to pin the G10 scales. Simply expose the phosphorescent material to sunlight or a bright light source for 5 minutes and it will remain illuminated for 8+ hours.
  • Right hand chisel grind honed to a zero angle, convex edge before leaving our shop. It'll arrive hair shaving sharp.
  • Heat treated, Cryo'd and tempered to 60 -62 HRC.
  • Weighs in at just 2.75 ounces, including the sheath.
  • OAL of 4.75" with a .75" cutting edge, tapering to .375" at the largest radius of the butt. Don't let it's diminutive size fool you, the index finger groove provides plenty of grip. If you know what you're doing, this little edge would make for a great last ditch option.
  • Shipped with a custom molded Kydex sheath that is set up for neck or pocket carry with a 30" black bead chain lanyard.

Hey man, if you'll ship to a military APO (same as shipping to US address), I'll take it. I don't really have any practical use for it, but it's gotta be one of the neatest little knives I've seen in a long time. Hope you'll send it my way. LMK

First off, thanks for the kind words fellas. SoftRock, I tried that during testing, but something about a TM infringement kept the halves from staying put.

It's yours Mike. I also offer a military discount, so we can work that out via email before you pay. Thank you kindly for the business, the compliment and most importantly, your service.

I know it's a little booger, but you'll be surprised how securely it tucks into a Filipino style grip and stays put.

As for practical uses, it'll open your mail/packages/MREs, cut cord and make precision cuts in pretty much anything you'd cut with any other knife of it's size. Think "X-Acto knife on steroids".

Hope you never do, but should you find yourself in a tight spot and have no other options, this knife would do terrible things if thrust into the neck, face, femoral artery, brachial artery, liver, junk, etc of an attacker. Bad guy has you in a bear hug from behind? If you can put your hands on this knife, stick it in his forearm or hand and see what happens. Also, please keep in mind that I've outfitted it with a bead chain for neck/pocket carry, but you can zip-tie the sheath it to your MOLLE/PALS webbing too.

Using a Filipino grip, anything you can reach out and put your thumb on is going to be damaged.

And don't worry about abusing this knife. You'd have to pound it with a hammer to get the layers to delaminate. Those tubes are sitting in .0625" seats I drilled into the face of the CPM154 and are accompanied by corresponding holes I drilled into both the steel and G10/CF before I glued it up. In other words, it's cross sectioned with approx 35 epoxy "rivets".

I realize this reply got a little lengthy, but I didn't want you to think this knife was intended to just be a novelty. It certainly walks the road less traveled, but please use it with confidence.

PM on the way.

Taylor

That is just freaking beautifull.
Orange G10,CF & GID dots,wow.
Congrats & thank you Medic1210.

Hey Taylor, money has been transferred. Sorry for the delay. Not having used Paypal in so long, I apparently missed a step and didn't realize the transaction didn't go through last night.:o I can't wait to get this thing. Like I said, I think it's one of the coolest looking little knives I've seen in a long time. The orange and black just rock, and I love CF. And who doesn't like things that glow?? I'm thinking this thing will stay in my hands admiring it more than it stays hidden in the sheath.
