Hello everyone,

I've been experimenting with several kiridashi inspired designs recently and just finished this one up.

The design specs of the KillaDashi™ are as follows:

  • Full tang, .187" thick, modified kiridashi style blade in CPM154 wearing a satin 600 grit finish.
  • Right hand chisel grind honed to a zero angle, convex edge before leaving our shop. This thing is a scalpel.
  • Heat treated and Cryo tempered by Paul Farner at Bos HT to 60 HRC.
  • Weighs in at just over 4 ounces, including the sheath.
  • OAL of 5.5" with a 1.25" cutting edge, tapering to 1" at the butt.
  • Hand filed thumb jimping for a Filipino style grip and finger groove for a secure hold.
  • Shipped with a custom molded Kydex sheath that is set up for neck or pocket carry with a 32" 550 para cord lanyard and cord lock.

Nice looking knife. You should consider putting this one into "production"

Hey Guys,

Thanks so much for the kind words. I've always been intrigued by the simplicity of the kiridashi and actually have a couple of other models that I'm finishing up that are completely different, so stay tuned.:D

JM, I broke down and got a checkering file. It really takes the guess work out of the process. I always appreciate feedback from my fellow knifemakers, so please keep it coming, both positive and constructive criticism most welcome!

Most sincerely,

Taylor
