EDC Skinner NitroV and Padauk with SS Bolsters

Greetings All! Here’s a new handy little EDC knife I just finished up. Hope you like it!

Steel is 3-32” x 1 3/16” in NitroV with professional BOS HT at 60/61.Hand sanded to 2000 grit for a highly reflective finish. The edge was about .01” before sharpening, it balances just behind the bolsters.

Dimensions: 6 3/4” OAL, Tip to Scales 2 5/8”

Stainless bolsters and Padauk make up the handle, set off with toxic green and white liners. Secured with brass pins and lanyard tube. The handle is finished to 1200 grit for a clean finish.

The slender handle feels great in my average sized hand. The blade is nice and snug in the sheath.

Thanks J jfk1110 and Smiticus ! I've often wondered about the lack of metal bolsters... maybe the extra weight? I think they look great in a traditional way. These are polished to 2000 grit so they are pretty shiny. The blade is too so I'll fix that it said 1200. Feel free to chime in your opinions on bolsters everyone!

I just realized many photos are not great, typical for me but I'll replace them tomorrow with better outdoor light.

That is very nice. I like bolsters on knives as I think they make the knife have a unique look. I’ve seen some where the metal used was different color/material than the blade and liked those also.

Wow thanks for the nice replies and likes everyone! I have used other metals for bolsters, haven't tried bronze yet and copper is just too soft, it would get battered pretty quick. I love copper but only behind a more robust material like a blued guard with copper backing it up looks good.

I'm yet to see a knife made by John i don't like.The Black River is one of the best fixed blade knives you can buy.But i LOVE his smaller knives.This has almost a phillipino flavor to it,it will do great for CQB work,too.
