Price: $180.00 SOLD
Specifications:
Steel: AISI D2
Hardness: HRC 62
Overall Length: 7"
Blade Length: 3"
Blade Thickness: 0.072" (1.82 mm) at base of full distal taper
Handle Material: Black Canvas Micarta
This is a small, extremely sharp EDC knife. I call it my "working grade" model, which basically means that the finish is not Grade A, but all the focus has gone into the performance and use of the knife. eg. the blade is mirror polished, but there are very small scratches that are noticeable (the polish is to aid in cutting -not for looks).
The blade was initially flat ground from the cutting edge all the way to the spine and then given a convex edge (resulting in a hamaguri or appleseed grind -a thin convex grind with a full distal taper). Thus, it has no secondary bevel, and cuts extremely efficiently.
This is a superb slicer -a combination of the blade geometry and high hardness. However, it is not for chopping or batoning through hardwood, if this is what you want to do, please take a look at other maker's knives -as this one will be damaged. It is for cutting only. No prying is recommended either.
The knife was heat treated by Paul Bos (cryo'ed in liquid nitrogen and double tempered) to HRC 62. This one holds an edge, and is by far the sharpest D2 knife I have ever used.
The handle is black canvas micarta, with one 3/16" mosaic pin and a 1/4" brass thong hole.
It comes with a Kydex sheath which is setup for horizontal carry (right handed), the belt loop is attached via two chicago screws and can be readjusted for other carry options with a simple flathead screwdriver.
USPS Priority Mail shipping (in the USA) is included in the price. Overseas buyers, please contact me.
Thanks.
